C-line wont open

HI guys,
Please can anyone help me with this one.

I have got hold of a second hand spiderbox 5000 as my DB 600 wont drive my dish anymore.
Anyway way Clines work fine on my DB so I want to use them on this Spiderbox.

When I first got it I selected Factory Default to wipe it clean.
Found the sats I want,
Set up the IP config ok as can ping the spiderbox from my PC's
OK
I have setup the cline as the stickies say
Type Dream
Server No = 1 & 2 (as I have 2 clines)
Enable = on
Softcam = CCCam
Input type = Domain
Server = mycline.mycline.org
Port = 11111
Authorization Passowrd & User name ok.

So if I press the red info button button it says " STB is connected to Sever 1 and 2 "

Also when I channel hop it says " Connection 1 2:

Am I doing something simple wrong here guys?

System info is
SW SD5000 -2.25.0-SPI (Dec 16), LDR:01.13
HW : IR-1.00-IR-200-8

Is this the best SW & HW had a look on the net and it seems it is.

Please if anyone could point me in the right direction.

yes that is the last patch from what I remember , even though its last years

I would have thought that if the details you input were correct , and it has a net connection , they should show as connected and open said channels

but I dont have a 5000 so cannot comment exactly as they are slightly different to my 2 HD boxes

I think its a fault with the ethernet port.

Looking at the port from behind the right port is constant orange & the left port flicks green but not always.

I touched the patch cable today and channels opened ok, but then let go and off it went.
This so strange as like I said I can ping it fine & it shows 2 connections.

Does orange light mean hald duplex 10mbs? Cant remember now.

Also the box has crashed on me a few times when flick through the menu's
End of the day its second hand so most prob broken.

Like echelon I do not have a Spiderbox 5000, but I did see this info by jimihendrix on the other forum which may or may not be of some help to you:

Routers I have tested with the 5000 SD

Over the last two weeks I have been testing quite a few routers with my Spiderbox 5000 SD with a landline and also two 3g routers with a USB modem (dongle) all the routers listed below work well with the 5000 SD

Land-line connected :
Netgear DG834G V2 and V3, Netgear DG834GT
Belkin F5D7632-4
D-Link DSL-604T, DSL624T, DSL-2640R
Safecom SWAMR-54108
Linksys WAG200G
Tomson 585 (often supplied by your ISP as part of their package)

3G routers tested with a 3 network E160G USB modem (USB dongle)
Netgear MBR624GU
Edimax 3G-6200n

Note you will need to confirm if your ISP and USB modem are compatible with the 3G routers not all are see the manufactures web sites.

OK all the above have been tested and all work well with the Spiderbox 5000SD as with anything in life the faster routers (and more expensive) seem to perform better with fewer freezes and much faster recovery after a freeze, they also open channels faster when changing channels or providers. In many cases the channels are open as soon as my dish stops moving but even the slower routers do almost as good a job.

If you own one of the above and are having problems first check your settings (especially the security settings), then leads etc and finally reboot your receiver using the rear mains on/off switch.

I will test more as and when I get hold of them.

its also worth trying different ethernet cables as some are better made than others , some have cable entry covers to make threading them easier , but can prevent them going fully home into the socket , or they dont click into place properly , and some can be slightly thicker plugs then cheap cables and so may give a nice and snug fit , or you may be able to glue a short one into the socket to give a snug and working fit , then uses a back to back adapter to connect to another cable going to the router

Ok I have also now tried with a mates Spiderbox 5000 & still the same thing, Also I have tried a N line & c line & both do the same.

After about 10 mins the channel opens up but if I change channel or goto the menu the channels will not open.
The thing is this Cline is rock solid with my dreambox 600.

It must be a compatablity thing with my Spiderbox and the Sagemcom F@ST2304.

Shame as I like the look of the spiderbox reminds of the Technomate menus.

Just one thing can these spiderboxes work ok with a c or n line after the gift has ran out ?

there is no gift to run out on spiderboxes

we now have the ethernet service with no expiry date , been running for at least 13 months now

and yes a C or N line works irrespective of any "gift"

the old 5000 had nuevoxstream and service plus , nuevo will run out but s+ will carry on , same as happened on the HD boxes

ps:- just looked up Sagemcom F@ST2304 and it appears to be a sly router

I would suggest you turn off DHCP and setup a fixed ip like you do with the netgear ones , then try it again

Spiderbox 192.168.0.3

All the same S.N.M 255.255.255.0

and all the same DNS 8.8.8.8 (Google)

Its still showing it's connected to 2 servers but still not opening channels?

Like I said with these above setting it work fine on my DB600.
BTW the both boxes are not connected to my router at the same time.

hope i can add my bit....
assume u re routed your isp router and did a reboot of the receiver..
ALSO assume the s lion is correct!!!! ie entered correct ,, and the other guy gave it to you correctly.

I appreciate you have tested it as ok on your dreambox ( unlike some )

have you allowed the fixed LAN and mac code in your lan settings on your router ? , I know my netgear needs this to work properly ( authorised network boxes )

does the 5000 need to have the server selected instead of nuevo or s+ ?
( The HD models can allow for any or all , and isnt selective although you can prioritise one server over another )

can I also suggest you move the ip away from any others , so start your boxes at say 11 instead of 1 , making the 5000 192.168.0.13

and make sure the gateway is set to 192.168.0.1

my google one is set to 8.8.4.4 , not 8.8.8.8

& find D*rkm*nP*tch-SD5000-2.23.3-SPI works best with CCcam & Newcamd Shares

After downloading s/w,Please do factory default recommended

please remember not all sd channel lists are compatible with different patches

I have now got it working.

After I gave everything I static IP address I thought I would play about with Cline menu.


I have two clines lets call them A & B.

I have inserted Cline A into Server number 1
Then Cline B into Server number 2

This is the strange part.

I have inserted Cline A into Server number 3 (Again)
The Cline B into Server number 4 (again)

So doubled up on the clines & the package now opens.

It's not as stable as the dreambox like when I change channel if frezes abit but its working.

Will try that patch Compass.

I would like to hope tyhat a new patch is issued seeing as its so long since the last one

hopefully a new patch would also add zee tv and any other recent 2011 changes , as well as making it more like its HD brothers in menus , layout and abilities

i have done the same and even put patch in what compass said ..i get connection 1 and 2 but go to channel and it says scramble...any further help please

A friend of mine had a simular problem with spiderbox 9000 hd channels kept scrambling when he changed to one and then back again he would reboot then ok again untill he changed channels again. the problem was a overheating box he stuck a fan and heatsink in and it cured it.
