Then it's not the problem of USB stick(if you removed DOM), is there any chance you can borrow from someone (friend,colleague) some other router and try, really dont know why dhcp app<-> your router doesnt work. If this again happening to many of you then it left me to make some Update GUI app like in original FW over my FB driver, but again it will take time for this and stop me from working on driver ....

Till I finish full demux part, I cant work on that now, is it posible, yes it is (just dont know how USB speed on SMP863X chips will have affect on data traffic)...

Regarding VFL's problem
Is it possible to connect the Azbox directly via LAN to the computer to do the update? Will need to enable dhcp, but will eliminate new router, right?
Maybe there is a port that is blocked in firewall or router?

Regarding USB, I for one have high hopes for it to work, I think DVB-T should have the highest chance of working since it has less bandwith. Good luck on the demux driver (maybe there is a way to demux two streams at the same time?)

Are you using a PAL or NTSC display? If NTSC, you might try the editing in the line I typed a few posts above. A few thoughts/suggestions. Just to confirm, to install E2 on your Premium+ you (cut and paste from prior post in this thread):

1. Load this patch.bin ( Enigma 2 ) file on FAT32 formatted USB Memory Stick
2. Turn Off Your AzBox HD Device, put USB Memory Stick inside and Turn on AzBox HD Device.
3. Follow the procedure USB Update on the screen, (patch version: 1.0.21 E2 by TheRipper, press OK, wait to finish, reboot - don't remove stick !)
4. Start AZUp , write IP adress of AZBox (see VFD), then click on Update button on AZUp, wait and follow message on AZUp and VFD, when all done - wait for reboot msg on VFD and then remove USB stick

If at all possible, can you connect a composite video cable (yellow RCA jack) to a display? I am seeing a few blinking spinning gears but this test ver. of E2 doesn't appear to be loading on Ultra. If you have installed this test version of E2 as above, its possible that your Premium+ is behaving the same but that you can't see it because the video is not configured properly.

You can try to setup a DHCP server on your PC/notebook instead of router and connect the AZbox and PC via crossover cable, maybe it can help also. In the past successfully tested such config. on Dreambox aswell to getting IP addresses before the flashing (DM7020, console mode)

As I use Winscp for FTP ( and edit ) so could be dos2unix problem.

thanks. assuming you get your display issue figured out, please let us know the results on the Premium+. as I mentioned above, connecting a yellow composite video cable would be the easiest way to check the status of your install

First part off install is no problem I can watch progress, then AzUp also works ( in progress now) then first boot comes indeed with a 100 % in display.

Problem is adjusting the bootup file after I done that and reboot nothing happens

For people that have problems to get a DHCP address from their router:

- First connect to your router and check that DHCP server is enable
- I would advice you to power off your Azbox.
- Reboot your router (so ARP cache is cleared)
- Wait for the router to come back
- Start your Azbox.

Some "bad" router can badly handle the ARP cache so they still associate the MAC address with the previous static IP.

Another good trick is to install the official firmware, set your Azbox to DHCP and write down the IP address that it receives, because during E2 installation the DHCP request it will receive the same IP from your router.

Since I see you navigate here, I'd like to ask you if opensat still supports the box. The upcoming E2 means that we will never see a 1.0 firmware???
I hope you answer because I think my question reflects the thoughts of all AZBox owners.

My suggestion is..

Leave the guys alone and let them continue the development. Stop wasting they're time with questions on a unfinished firmware. let them finish the real thing.

Has anyone got this working with a Premium Plus?

Mine boots up, goes past the Geek & VFD on the display, then counts 12, 24, 25 in the display and stops but no output on the TV via HDMI, but has the blue and red LED showing. The remote doesn't do much either.

I can FTP no problem at all when it's booted up.

I have edited the boot file and replaced the new dvb ko file.

Any ideas?

Looks like that's the furthest we are going to get on Premium Plus at the moment......



The furthest I have got now with the Premium Plus is with the original em8634dvb.ko.

I can get 100 on the VFD, and see cogs flashing on the TV, but with the replacement em8634dvb.ko, the VFD only counts upto 25, and nothing on the TV displayed at all.
