thanx is for your praising post to azbug. i didnt test buyukbang script as i am lucky to sell my azbug .i am sure that he did a great work but what about openbug? they cannot even write a shell script like buyukbang did.
as for watching mkv's on azbug we are talking here for satellite reciver not a multimedia player.and thanx god there are many out there doing a helluva work sthng that azbug cannot do either at this part

It's a shame that Problems that are submitted at the main AzBox forum, are not answeres by the AzBox Team.

I think the most of you must buy a another telly or you must have really bad electric power. I watch telly with the azbox for almost 10 months without problems ....

You are wrong - azbox is as much media player as it is sat receiver. And it's media player part has much more problems than sat part. I can watch sat tv without hang ups bat I can't watch mkvs because of DTS drops, lost of synchronization, hang up and so on

Really? I've only DTS problem and some minor problems (ie. no .sub file support) No freezing, no synchronization problem, no subtitle problem, no hang up. As far as I read from VU+ and Dreambox forums they are struggling with simple things we eve not aware of (no DTS, no avi, very bad subtitle support -a simple FWD, BWD kills the synchronization- bad youtube support,...)

The only thing I'm not happy with the box is Opensat's behaviour to its customers and their lack of interest to support volunteer developers...

I only got some minor blips every now and then on dts....
nothing else...

By reading the posts before, wondering whether the same at my receiver on which the story. I look back is that, the AzBox hm. I think a lot of members who are post in this topic has no azbox or not insert last FW?

All my problems are related to HD mkvs with DTS sound - that's why got this HD player. And to play any such movie with latest let say 8 fw is impossible because of DTS drops, previous fw don't have drops but get out of sync which is unbearably annoying. So as a media player it is no go. As a sat it's ok but my demands are probably much lower than demands of other people

You probably know that but I wanted to write in case of you're missing it. There is no DTS sound drop with sound setting is set to PCM instead of RAW for DTS. if you have a surround system, you'll lose all channels and get only stereo sound :( Opensat declared that they were rewriting Media Player. I think this problem will be solved, because DTS is a licensed and payed feature for every single box. It's not easy to leave it as it's. But who knows, this is Opensat, the first company I hate so much.

i had this box for more than a year.so i have a very good knowledge for what i write.i dont think that latest bugware made such an improvement

it kind a defeat the goal, doesn't it :-) I know they claim they will rewrite MP but I for sure don't take their claims for granted :(

I use mostly NFS for all movies including 1080P, also I tried internal HDD, too. This is weird but haven't seen never any single hang up ? could you describe your problem detailed, there should be something wrong ?

BTW, Your first and second sentences point the same issue, DTS sound drops, doesn't it? Just asking to be sure.

You won't see dts drops if you don't use external dts decoder (PCM/RAW)
You won't see out of sync on 20 sec sequences
You probably won't see hang ups if you play from internal or usb HDD

i am using some older fw where sometime randomly screen goes black and i must reboot
out of sync may be related to dts drops but not directly - dts drops are on new fw, out of sync on older where sound is in advance/late (i don't know whic one :-)) to movie

Mate I suggest you to use latest firmware. It's the most stable and fastest firmware avaliable. No out of sync, no black screen, no hang up. I think you are using that older firmware just for DTS? I suggest you to wait with latest firmware + PCM setting Don't bother yourself with this old bugs. Use Hardware Accerelation and Priority Manager and watch every single movie you want...

Even though I fully agree with you, and have no real trouble with any of the box's SAT or Media functionality, I do understand people complaining about DTS drops.

Of course, when downgraded to PCM Stereo, there are not drops, but then you'll miss the entire surround sound.

Anyway, apart from this DTS drop, which can be worked around, I have no issues either such as reboots or the box locking up, etc.

It's running fine and stable, and reasonably fast. Of course, not as fast as a DM500

there are hang ups after sleep mode when on IP-TV.
there are hang ups after sleep mode on some Hellas Sat 39 freq.
there are some strange "security error" that occur once a month.
Hardware Acceleration crashes Box.

these bugs are known for 0.9.4890-patch.bin.
these bugs are reported to Azbox Team.

so I am sure after talking to other users of AzBox is that people who have up to 4 sats, or no IP-TV or no Multicas are happy with this ****.
but most people with about 8 sats, IP-TV and Multicas are not happy with this ****.

so as I said before, please all you happy people. sit quiet, eat your :lurk5: or check other forums and see the problems that are reported from other users.
