I do understand you are confused BM , so for that I sympathise , but you are confusing yourself by treating it like your eagle

    I have a tm1500 , and a tm9100 , and a dm800 , so know there are big differences

forget the ethernet port apart from connecting to dyndns etc

usb is used on this machine , with serial loading as a backstop if you brick it

just look for the info like I pointed you at and you should get there , as your eagle is more complicated than this dumb box ( non linux )

the tm9100 is SD only , not HD , so wont give you any more than the eagle did
yeh my biggest boo boo was when i searched for the cline and for my model number and it came back as a TM9100 without me seeing it was the wrong model and i just tried to follow the instructions.

well ive just loaded the cline on my usb and i will go from there mate and i really appreciate your patience i really do.

anyone want to buy a TM6900 ? lol

ive just tried to learn japanese but failed - i cant get my head round the 8281 menu

ive created the c line on a text file and and put it on the usb stick and tried to load in to the file transfer and it said Invalid text file.

i pressed the red button and it created a file on the usb stick called 6900HDSUPER_722p.STB

ive tried following where it says about the 8281 menu but cant get my head round it despite the links above.

i seem to have a mental block here now and i get the feeling im so near but yet so far ??

    This is your Backup File.

So if All Fails with what ever you do between here and now ?
You can revert back to this as a first step....

For 5400 Super its "8280" Brings up BISS Menu

me back's playing up again after the old bike ?

Should i go to a massage parlour or a faith healer ? :-)

those posts say this can happen if you use a word editor instead of notepad

I use notepad plus for jobs like this though

sounds like you did the file transfer the wrong way or on the wrong section , especially as you backed up your firmware to an stb file ( set top box )

did you look at that post I gave you where giga explained it with pictures ?

yes mate and im pretty sure now im not going to be able to do this and im seriously thinking of binning it and getting a linux box that im more comfortable with.

i think this box is out of my league and im just going round in vicious circles lol

i will take another look at it and really its only simple(no me lol ) if you have done one of these before and vice versa if someone hasnt done a linux box before.

    my head hurts..paracetamol anyone ?

    cheers

you can give him as much technical help as you wish to , the only rule being you do not use actual server details etc , just examples like giga did

so no urls , no servers , no actual port numbers , no actual usernames or passwords

other than that explain whatever you like

If B.M. Can't help himself ? Then who are we to judge ?

My only regret is not thinking further ahead, long before the situation ever happened.:-)
At least the weather's gonna be warmer next few days....

post 11 in this thread https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=114462 has all the details and a file you can download with a sample in it

surely you just edit it in notepad plus , save it to usb stick , and load it as explained by giga in that post 11

    seems easy enough to me

    RCU = Remote Control Unit
while viewing a channel select channel 8 2 8 1 with the RCU; server list should be showing:

    press exit
download the file: CS info List.txt put this on the USB stick in the root \
place usb stick on TM-6900HD Super
press USB on RCU (left above menu)
    select Data Transfer
in the file list select CS info List.txt and press ok
Window should show shortly: CSINFO update, reading, writing OK
    press exit
select channel 8 2 8 1 and you should see now the modified information.
If this did not work: report back here Else if this works:
you can use that file with the notepad editor and change the relevant information
don't change the label: [CS Information]

that patch (6900HDSUPER_722p.STB) was already on your USB stick, you put it there to patch the TM.
when pressing the red button: Upload Channel, it saves your channellist on the USB stick and you see a file with this name construction:
    20100409-075042.CNDF
    2010 = Year
    04 = Month
    09 = Day
-075042 = Time you saved the file
.CNDF file extension for Compressed Channel Data File

Upload means for Technomate save to USB
Downloading in Technomate: select the file in file list and press OK
can you check in the Main Menu RCU: menu the System Information?
    Model: ?
    S/W Version: ?

you should have a name and password for the server in the c line you have been given by the server admin

in that c line will be the name , password , port number , des key etc

the protocol is CCCAM in capitals like the example in the text file , so only CCCAM will go in there

basically you dissect the c line you have been given and copy and paste the relevant parts into that example

the deskey is probably the same as the example

the port number etc will be given in the c line

so you would add the name that you recognise for the server

    the username

    the user password

    the port number

here is what I would say in this matter as an example

lets say the c line looked like this

    C: satpimps.gotdns.com 12345 pimp1 pimp1password yes

then this is how you would dissect and paste it in

    name: Satpimps1
    ip:satpimps.gotdns.com
    user:pimp1
    password:pimp1password
    protocol:CCCAM
    deskey: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
    port: 12345

I hope that clarifies it a bit more

ok ive done that and i wouldnt have guessed that in a million years mate lol

after i edited the details which i will show as an example only and not what the details are so the example below is a dummy one(if its not allowed then sorry and delete it)

    name:Peters.dyndns.org
    ip: 192.168.0.10
    user: joebloggs
    password: abcdefg
    protocol: CCCAM
    deskey: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
    port: 9821

does this look right or not ?

    cheers
