Help needed TM 6900 HD Conbi Super

    hello everyone.

im really really going round in circles trying to get my new TM 6900 HD Conbi Super up ive just bought.

well its second hand not new and must have an image or soemthing on because i can get BBC,ITV etc etc on it but thats about it.

ive got an eagle reciever but i thought it was time to go HD and got this cheap but i regret it now because its worlds apart from an eagle box and im going backwards reading all the info onthese TM's.

is there a dummies and i mean dummies guide for me to get this going please because all the different things ive read are confusing me even more and i really could do with some advice and pointers on how to get me fixed up.

ive sussed out and got my motor moving and stuff but i really cant understand how to get the keys/softcam and other files across to the box.

with the eagle i just FTP'd everything across really easy but with this i really dont know where to start.

any help would be welcomed and very much appreciated.

    cheers

    BM

Very Informative and friendly first post .

Getting the motor working on the Arch is a Major achievement in itself so take a bow....

Unfortunately I don't own a 6900 HD version , but I hear the quality of the product is very good and performance also a A+ in the features department.

    I also don't know anything about Eagle box's !

But I am sure that buy being patient and informative toward other users , you will soon have it running smoothly.

I believe the 6000 is usb and the loading procedure for a tmsoftcam should be exactly the same as for a 5000 usb model , so take a look in the sticky sections and tools sections of both the 6000 and 5000 series models here

you will also find the tmsoftcam posted in the public section or in one of the tm sections , as its the same tmsoftcam for all the non-linux tm models

and if it has ethernet on it then you should take note of the posts telling you how to use it with say a C line or whatever they use using 8281

I am sure if you have a good read of both forums there will be plenty of info on it

Welcome & enjoy Satpimps. This would be the forum where you find most interesting (stickies) Always make sure you're relating to the correct model Super or non-super when flashing patches (firmware) do test before your current null modem cable with your computer so you have a working solution, just in case something goes wrong.

ok after reading and reading ive managed to get a patch on and a softcam.

ive read more and ive installed DCC and TCC but it wont connect to DCC at all and ive put the username as root and left the password blank.

the ip addy of the box is recognised as what it is but i keep getting this error...

ERROR 10057 in function send socket is not connected

so im now stuck unless anyone has had this problem and can help ?

    many thanks

I wouldnt have thought that dreambox tools or tm9100 tools would work to this box , especially as its not a linux box like a dm800HD or a tm9100

dunno why you are even trying that approach

the fact is that normally you connect using a null modem and serial com port connections , like dreamup on a dmm , but using the darkman tm1500 loader , or usb as you have now done

its also worth pointing out that the patches for this box have now ceased , along with its brothers and sisters too , but tmsoftcams will continue for the time being

    thanks mate.

i read a post on here about trying to put a C LINE on and to do so you have to use DCC ??

im familiar with DCC because of my eagle box but i get that error "ERROR 10057 in function send socket is not connected "

i dont really want to patch it seeing ive got channels like like BBC,ITV etc clearing but i just wanted to put a c line on

I dont have a tm6000 series box , but I would assume its done either using the usb stick or by the remote control

Great to hear your still cracking at it! :bravo-009:

I recomended a TM to an old n old pal not long back...
And Yip they got the GLX,GTI, TWINCAM Supercharged Model with the auxillary bits thrown in... Handy Price delivered brand new to the door. with all the frilly bits !

Patched it and Got the Softcam up and running for them, successfully via usb but I couldn't get my head around the remote control in comparison to 5400 Super unit.... Then again Your probably two steps Ahead of me !

im not being lazy its just im used to linux boxes now and im really sorry i bought this bugger now.

its totally different from what im used to and thats why im struggling a bit and thats why i was pretty scared of asking for help in the first place because i never just go onto forums just to get info and go.

in fact i love contributing on forums and get to know peeps and i remember your name froma previous place many moons ago where i used to help out :-)

    thanks once again

he has done the softcam already , its the c line input he needs now , and a quick hunt around this forum shows me its done using usb stick or remote control

I do understand you are confused BM , so for that I sympathise , but you are confusing yourself by treating it like your eagle

    I have a tm1500 , and a tm9100 , and a dm800 , so know there are big differences

forget the ethernet port apart from connecting to dyndns etc

usb is used on this machine , with serial loading as a backstop if you brick it

just look for the info like I pointed you at and you should get there , as your eagle is more complicated than this dumb box ( non linux )

the tm9100 is SD only , not HD , so wont give you any more than the eagle did
