it makes me laugh everyone banging on about the VU+ DUO and how great it is, its just another box which offers promise, just like the AZBOX did last year, but no one can tell how it will pan out in the end, as no one has a crystal ball (except mystic meg, but she aint on these boards) .

every receiver you buy is a risk, surely you should only buy one which already does the job you want it for.

Whats the point in buying a box HOPING it might do something in the future.

difference is vu+ it's opensource and great hardware, and daily snapshots from 3 well known dreambox teams. also it has a nice media player, fist version allready plays every files..

I have the vuduo and going like clockwork, it has many bug but are normal for a virgin image, the goodness of vuduo is open source, anyone can work to improve or assist in the software.

vuduo currently does most things and works better than azbox that for over 1 year in the market

Do you know if the current vu+ Or the upcoming vu solo's media player support 1080p?
I mean, not only play 1080p mkv s but also output 1080p from hdmi...

Yes. I don´t understand why you are selling boxes and dragin this box in the mud. For me its a rock stady sat-reciver. As an media player it´s crap. If you want a media player then build one.
The only thing is that the picture quality is slightly worse than ipbox. (I have one to refere to).

Yeah which is great if you ignore ALL the things it CANT do which were originally promised!

VU is working like a dream, specially now as Dream Elite are working on it.

It's all well and good saying let a sat receiver do what a sat receiver should, and buy a media player for media. Well, as a sat receiver it's still behind, crappy channel listing, no EPG.... boxes with media functionality already have all of the above, and succeed in every area, apart from 4:4:2 feeds. Which if that's what you're after, then fair enough this box is right for you.

But in general, we want something that works and functions well, specially for the price! Unfortunately Azbox doesn't to my personal standards.

The VU does... which is why i guess they're sold out everywhere and people are raving about them. :respect-055:

There is no hoping this box works in the future, cos it's doing everything right now. Only a few month after it's release. Which is something Opensat really should look at.
