Is there a package list anywhere which lists what the season interface will open?

You can open any package through cs if you use Fausto with combination of server(s).
Or if you are after keyfiles only then you can have everything that a keys.bin can open.

I had realised that cs could open any package but I thought the season i/f worked with a pc to create a bespoke emu(softcam) for different packages in real time, rather than via cs. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, and Fausto is the program made by our team for this purpose.
you can emulate and/or cs at the same time ...
The user chooses what to do with it.
