You can zoom in and see my LNB Holder much different on my Channel Master 1.2m dish
you can see the Golden Media LNB Fits without any issue whatsoever : )
dish is fairly old and has the old original Channel Master Logo still on it i believe ??
LNB Holder can accept a Feed horn with using the small black plastic spacers that usually are provided with a CM Feedhorn .
Yes sadly mines very different to that.
Your very lucky Barney. It seems that your dish caters for both 20mm and 40mm colars.
I wonder if its possible to buy the arms and the holder that you have and fit them to my dish ?
Probably not though as mine attach to the dish by means of self tapper screws, which screw into the very outside edge of the dish, so more signal is gained as the arms are not blocking the very outside dish area like yours do. Although what is gained by this is probably nominal.
From your pictures your arms seems to be attached differently. I cant quite make out how. Possibly through holes in the dish itself ?

Best my scratched camera lens can do.
You have to remember my dish is now 35 years old and 40mm collars hadnt even been invented, it was originally was ran from a Chaparral Cheyenne ( I couldnt afford the Monterey ) and shortly after upgraded to an Echostar 5500.
I bought it back in 1987 when Sky was just one channel broadcasting from an Intelsat craft for just 2 hours a day.
Ian.
Ps Do you like my coffee jar lid acting as a feedhorn cover lol ? I'm afraid 35 years of sunlight made the original plastic one very brittle and it just fell apart.
As you can see though theres no way its going to take a 40mm collar LNB as it is right now.

Picture of how my arms attach to my dish.
Ian.
This is a photo of the goldenmedia with plastic covers removed , i recon that neck is pretty close to 20 mm , if youre not worried about the look just fit it with the plastic covers removed .
just fit the feedhorn cover back on same way as you done with the jamjar lid .
Ok thats excellent Cossie. Cheers buddy.
I shall be getting one of those then. Considering C120's are hundreds of pounds and probably not as good either. Just needs to be seeled properly as its exposed to the ellements, but I would imagine it is.
I would never have thought of trying to remove the covers lol.
So where did you guys purchase yours from ? Do Goldwafers have them ?
It is just a tenner on A-m-a-z-o-n but I would like to get it from Goldwafers if possible.

Just looked on Goldwafers and it appears that they dont stock them. Shame.
Christ I cannot believe how cheap LNB's are now, well none C120's anyway. The last one I bought I'm sure I paid over £100 for it, but again it was a C120 which are a rip off.
Ian.
ian check your messages m8![]()
Bought one for £9.99 with free delivery.
But it wont arrive till between Wednesday and Friday next week Grrrrrrrrr
Why does postage take so long ? This is why I detest buying things online.
Ian.
Generally because people like the free postage, if you're willing to pay more, which will double the price, you could have it tomorrow.
i still have my single black inverto ultra on my 1.85m offset dish and have it on 3 yrs now and well happy, but few weeks ago i bought a few lnbs and another single black ultra inverto along with a twin black ultra inverto which be handy for feeding my sat box and feeding my tbs card in my pc and also bought 2 of the golden media 202 twins and one to try out for myself and the other for my good irish friend barney and he tryed it as soon as it arrived and hes over the moon with it,so come a really hot sunny day i shall be trying out all the mentioned lnb, sall trial and error etc as to whats best for a dish and location etc etc hope you will be as happy as barney ian

Just for clarity for anyone else that stumbles on this thread, is it the GM 202 or the GM 202+ (high gain version) that is being recommended ?
The older Golden Media GM 202 is now redundant and near impossible to find .
The New Golden Media GM 202+ High Gain version LNB is what we are talking about here i have both versions ,
the older GM LNB was very good but failed to perform very well under wet conditions this has been improved and resolved with the new version and does provide solid signals especially with 42E and the weaker 28E Football feeds which i struggled with very hard with every other LNB that i have tested .
cheers !
Raising the LNB 20mm won't change the signal strength significantly on an offset focus dish but you would need to point the dish a fraction higher to compensate.
I have found that metal LNB clamps should not make an electrically conductive loop around the LNB neck as it distorts the radiation pattern. A nylon screw on one side will alleviate that problem.
It is no different to using a fixed dish with several LNBs to get several birds where only one LNB is on the optimal position. A mere 20mm on a large dish hardly makes a difference.
Although I guess some of you guys are trying to get the best from the fringes of footprints.
It would of course work but would be a waste of the 1.2 meter dish , If only half of the focal point was hitting the lnb prob like having a 60 cm dish up.
it was a good add on for fixed dishes with high signal satellites , providing signal and dish was big enough and signal strong enough.
i think ian will have a big shock with the new lnb ,looks like Fred flintstone use to run one of them back in the day![]()
