Can anyone help with a way that I can unlock a iPhone and iPad that I need to unlock the screen to use? My best friend has just died today and she has changed her passwords on both her iPad and IPhone and need to be able to access data and phone numbers etc?

Yes there's a few ways you can do that.
1: Use a boot cd/usb to reset the admin password, log in as admin and then remove your username password.
2: Boot from a linux dvd/cd/usb and you can access the windows partitions and copy stuff to usb or whatever.
There's a few other ways - but it's easily done, try google for the required tools you need.
