OnDemand plugin devixified and working on all images

Im really confused now, so can someone please help

i have original db800, run nemesis 2.6 on oe 1.6 could some please point me in the direcction of the ondemand add on that will work with this set up.

i would like that also wwe ..maybbe ian can direct us to something that will work with our setups ?
i try earlier with manual install and overwrite .xml etc..etc.. but got green screen crashing ..is it required to remove TSOnline plugin before install this plugin ?
im down to 17% internal memory so dont wanna use any unwanted disc space ..plus TSOnline dont work half the time and majority of the links are all dead any times i try or with Error msg .

i have tsonline also it works quite well , but i would sacrifice it for ondemand maybe Ian will point us in the right direction for this add on

I agree its all getting very splintered now, the people who started all this off like roger this, subox, digi, Mcquaim all the original player creators, can they get together without team rubbish on some forum hopfully one like this and work together, we all love the original plugins after all, for example i have rte player, 3 player, working fine on the following boxes, tm twin, tm 2T, amiko alien, dm 800se.

please ignore all the files posted by phoenix and only use the ones at the start of this thread posted by myself,cokeaddict and ten below if you wish to get this running on none VIX images.

perhaps a mod or phoenix himself will remove his posts and place them into a thread of their own entitled OnDemand VIX only ?

i dont really wish to become involved with the political side of this,i have my own feelings regarding the way this and other OE Alliance plugins have been written,but for the most part ive kept them to myself.but if you feel my post will help you to sell more boxes then by all means you can use it on your forum,but also please remember i wasnt attacking phoenix personally and only wished to avoid this current situation,so could you please state this too if you do indeed use them.but also i have to admit that part of me is beginning to believe this confusion was caused intentionally in order to discredit our files,so when people try them,they wont work for them.this is simply because of his refusal to post that his files are VIX only.hes done the same thing on every forum ive posted these files on and so everywhere there is now confusion about which files work and which dont.

regarding the modifying of the new plugin versions,because of work ive barely had a chance to even look at them to modify them for other images and the little saintomer,cokeaddict and myself have done is now outdated because there have been so many new releases this week.
so it looks like we need to start again using the very latest files anyway,plus we also need help from Subix,but so far we have been unable to contact him as i believe hes been quite ill this week.so for the foreseeable future,please just use the files we have modified already that dont include the 4OD player.
although i do have a new BBCiplyer file that has the sport link fixed that ive not uploaded yet.i will give this to you once you have the plugin up and running properly.

I have written this reply 5 or 6 times now and deleted it every time, as I really dont want or need to get embroiled in yet another forum debate.

It's obvious that certain users have a deep seated hate of me so from now on i just wont post, if users want to be kept appraised of updates to OE-A plugins they can just look towards the GIT.

no one is asking or wants you to do that.i repeat,its great that you keep people informed about the latest updates.and i have nothing personally against you at all and i certainly dont hate you.

i do hate the way the OE Alliance writes its plugins to only work on VIX though and then calls them open source,stating that users are free to modify them as they like.you know as well as i do that 99% of users lack the knowledge or skill to be able to do this.so,the desired effect then remains in that these plugins can claim to be open source,but also still only work on the VIX image.but hey im not alone in this as practically everyone on all sat forums on the net hate them for this too,and this is why they are so disliked everywhere by everyone.you cannot expect things to be any different im afraid.

for you to then add new files to this thread without stating that these new files will only work on VIX is causing confusion,as users quite naturally assume that these files too can be used on their boxes that are not running VIX.

this is all ive been stating all along and all ive been asking you to do is to state that your added files are VIX only.

is there any reason in particular why you didnt wish to do this and havent done it so far,even after being asked so many times ?

Unfortunately that rite there is a big part of the problem and one of the reasons why i started posting in this thread in the first place.

The OE-Alliance does not write plugins only for the ViX image, the OE-Alliance is a central GIT used, maintained and updated by 11 separate image teams. but you insist in on populating this myth that the OE-Alliance is a ViX only creation.

again i point you to the above reply in fact i my self tried several images yesterday including Openpli, Italysat, openaff any many others. all of these images accepted the OE-A OnDemand plugin without any problems what so ever but it is worth pointing out that those images were all either OE-A based or Pli 3.0 based images in some form or another.

The OE-Alliance is based on the OpenPli OE note i said BASED on not ripped off as you claim.

There are to my knowledge 4 distinct OE's in existence for Enigma 2 as below.

DMM's own OE which pretty much every thing is based on one way or another but not every thing is compatible with this OE as it's now closed source.

OpenPli's OE which was forked away from the DMM OE a very long time ago, so long ago in fact that it bares little resemblance to the DMM OE any longer and a lot of the inner core of this OE is no longer cmpatible with the DMM OE based images.

Vu's OE which is based again on the DMM OE although be it a newer version that the Pli OE again though it is no longer compatible with all DMM plugins etc, this is also what BH and VTI base their images on.

The OE-Alliance OE which is based on Pli's OE but with a hell of a lot of the inner core re-written from the ground up. This OE while based on Pli ( not ripped off as you like to claim, a claim that i'm still undecided against taking legal action against ) like all others before it differs greatly from it's parent OE.


as for me posting a disclaimer that any OE-A plugin will only work on ViX that is not only false but if i did that i would end up with dozens of trolls jumping over the thread with the exact same assumptions you like to make.

And to clear another thing up while i'm here.

I spoke to a member of staff here yesterday with the sole intention of creating a thread only for updates from the GIT, after thinking it over I decided against it as i have no doubt any such thread by me would have been met with the same anti ViX posts as is in this thread.

so you tell me why should i bother when every single time i hold my hand out to offer help it gets slapped away ?.

now i'm quite happy to sit down and have a adult conversation and help where ever possible, but i have no want or need to get into more bitching threads. so if you want a adult conversation about how best to progress please go ahead, if you just want to continue to populate your theories and myths i'm not interested.

I get no module simplejson in bh 1.79 oe16 on a duo when starting the plugins menu from the actual menu-plugins

also seems to be a few duplicated files with a S on its side after the name

you need to delete these then reboot.they are machine code and probably compiled into 2.7

i can give you the module simplejson if you would like to test.

but its a decompiled 2.7 version that i have and as im having problems in obtaining the categories for RTEPlayer and 4OD Player im beginning to think it could be this module at fault.

if you have the then have the exact same issues as me then i have my answer.

ok heres simplejson.

send the folder to /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/

then open it and chmod all the py files to 755

then reboot.

they all worked including 4OD and rte, apart from OUG, that crashed and gave me a crashlog

I could select categories and play episodes etc from the menus in all of them except the OUG crashing after one was selected

so generally speaking it seemed fine in bh 1.79 oe1.6 on a duo
