I've tested 10 mkv movies with average bitrate( not as high as hfmls). There are two files that have no problem. There are five files that run just first 1-3 minutes then freeze or sometimes hang. The rest three are not playable. I'm using usb docking, when I connect the docking, E2 always say something like this "no files can playable on this media" It seems that media player also don't regconize .mts files(avchd) as original firmware do. It's very surprised to see the CPU run just at 1x% when playing HD movie.

I will be really happy(dream comes true) if idx/sub will support for the media player since almost mkv movies in my country use idx/sub(rip from dvd). Thank you so much for your job !!!


PS: my box is old board version azbox premium(tuner fixed). using 1080i50 resolution.

Did you test sub file? As this might be supported.

Guys use NFS. I'm using it without any problem.

mkdir /mnt/nfs
mount -t nfs xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:/xxxx /mnt/nfs -o rw,nolock,intr,soft,udp

What I would like to see fixed now is Aspect Ratio, as I use my Azbox with a 4:3 TV and so all 16:9 channels or movies in Media Player are stretched.
If there is a way to do this manually, as the A/V settings don't work on the GUI, please let me know.

If you need this for ****center plugin do this:

To turn off the PIN-query:

a) open (/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/****Center/plugin.py)
b) find:
self.pin_entered = False

and change it to

self.pin_entered = True

c) save
d) restart enigma2

Just the info......

I've played 7 more movies, all are playable but some came with mosaic. I found some movies with a little bit sound delay(DTS). There is a file( Next 2007 1080p) having 8 srt subs inside MKV container, all of them can be selected and playable.

I tried testing the v1.0.28 on Premium Plus and the whole upgrade process went ok and box seems to be booting ok but Enigma2 itself is not starting but gives a following error:

StandardError: eDVBResourceManager::setFrontendS lotInformations list size incorrect 0 frontends avail, but 1 entries in slotlist

Is there any way past this error as I would like to test the mediaplayer side of Enigma2?

By the way, the dvb-c is detected but obviously I have no way of knowing if it actually works.

This receiver has DVB_C TUNER(NAME:DNQS44CPS101A, ID:0x55) module

This would be great in this testing stage. Having the original fw in the DOM and E2 in USB or HDD.

You can install e2 on usb. However you will need to change kernel (only kernel, takes 30 seconds) with azup eveytime you want to switch,.

If people are interested i can post a howto.

I have the Premium plus also that I only use for feeds at the moment with DVB-S tuners...I was thinking of loading E2 also just to play around with in anticipation of the plus driver being released, so could you advise if you were able to revert back to the opensat firmware OK or not, or were there any problems.

Ok i will tonight. For the people interested. mpeg4 raw aac is fixed now. Also youtube player is working with audio and video now .

If there are any other (online) video plugins which do not work yet because of missing codec let me know.

Still working on dvd menu playback, but this one it annoying ;-)

I haven't reverted back to Opensat's firmware as I am still playing with E2. The process from Opensat to E2 went without any problems so I don't see any problems that would prevent from going back to Opensat.

I noticed one problem: the fan isn't on when using E2 so the device gets quite hot.

.mts and m2ts format can't be recognized by the media player. I can't see my clip recorded from my camcorder.
