Guys maybe im too dumb to understand but isn't this just a temporary proof of concept?
So just wait for the "beta" before saying this doesn't work or can we have this......

Go play with it, start telnet and try all the files and see what it does.
We know the tuner gives no audio/video yet but maybe ther's a movieplayer somewhere that can be started.

I think my whole evening will be occupied with playing with it......thats part of why i bought this box in the beginning.

    Thanx Ripper and friends...so far

    1. Load this patch.bin ( Enigma 2 ) file on FAT32 formatted USB Memory Stick
    2. Turn Off Your AzBox HD Device, put USB Memory Stick inside and Turn on AzBox HD Device.
    3. Follow the procedure USB Update on the screen, (patch version: 1.0.21 E2 by TheRipper, press OK, wait to finish, reboot - don't remove stick !)
    4. Start AZUp , write IP adress of AZBox (see VFD), then click on Update button on AZUp, wait and follow message on AZUp and VFD, when all done - wait for reboot msg on VFD and then remove USB stick

You are not being constructive but pressurising the developers (that are not asking for or getting payment for their work) to release their work in bits before they are happy with it or it as even reached Beta stage.

In fact not only are you not being constructive but you are not even being reasonable, what would happen if firmware was released that corrupted and damaged your box beyond repair, the comments made by members after the recent downloaded when they thought they couldn't get the original opensat firmware back on their boxes is enough to prove that patience (in other words waiting) is best for all.

Maybe you should consider reading some of the posts in other topics rather than just this one, you never know you might find you are able to use your knowledge to help another member.

reboot with the USB stick connected with the E2 firm, it should go into Recovery Mode, and show the IP on the VFD.

Launch AzUp and reinstall E2 firmware.

    I have started AzUP.
USB stick with E2 at the Azbox I have also formatted FAT32 USB stick again.

But I always get only geeko: P appears. and my router refers to Azbox not so no IP address.

I'm not sure you understand what I'm trying to say.

I don't want the devs to quickly release another firmware with some added functionality.

I just think that maybe there is a way to play videofiles with THIS firmware
and I also think everybody here would be very happy if they could do that, that's all.

What USB stick do you use, manufacture/size,is it in FAT32 ?
    Are you shure it's patch.bin not PATCH.BIN filename ?
Can you maybe try another router, from some friend who can borrow to you ,just you can try.

So I got a cheap USB giveaway. With 255MB is enough for updates. So the patch.bin is spelled correctly. I have a router and Vodafone had already tried that with another and with switch but can not get IP.
