    Best HD rec 4 weaker transponders

    is there a prefered HD reciever for locking onto channels that are borderline recievable, i could sacrific features if it ment pulling in a few more channels

    the technomate sd receivers have good tuners probably the same for the 6800 don't have one though but the fortec is not too sensitive dream box have also had bad reviews with their sd tuners

    Pace DS810XE is good receiver for FTA but no good with CAMS

    Darkbox HD is good receiver for weak signals.

    cheerz, shortlisted the darkbox and Techno HD recievers, any others i should consider?

    Have look at Octagon HD mate PVR ready with Ethernet on the back tuner with AGC (automatic gain control)..

    How much difference is AGC making in practice?

    All tuners have AGC functions, some hardware/drivers may be more effective then others though. If this is the case with the Octagon I do not know.

    From what I read, this receiver has manual adjustment of the AGC per channel..yes I know this sounds like a contradiction (automatic gain control!). What I would like to know if there is anybody who has found this a feature that is worth having, or is it just a sales gimmick such as go faster stripes. :auto:
