Yes, very strange indeed.

Maybe it is so that there are several coders working on their bit and working on their old copy , posting it without looking into any later FW that has been posted. If they do it like that then they keep on re-inventing same old bugs everytime they keep on working on an old copy !Perhaps they need a Master Coder:respect-055: that implement all fixes into the latest FW.
