Nice you have beta test there hardware and software find all the bugs for them then be stuck with a first revision box and pay them for the privilege.

Suppose it will depend on how much they aim to charge the beta tester, as I expect this box to be quite expensive.

They used beta testers for the 800, for about 6 months prior to release date.

I applied over a week ago but not heard anything.
I know a couple of people who have been accepted, they say the price is a secret! but I have read reports of beta testers being charged 800 or even 900 euros.

heres a copy of the beta testers contract for the dream 8000. They expect the tester to fork out 899 euro + vat. Imagine the launch price. Could be 1000 euro

    What a bunch of bull.

I will be waiting for the box to

    A: Hit the market
B: Be tested and reviewed by users
C: Drop in price to something that reflects the product.
D: Looking at alternative products that will be around by this time.

Yet another company that can’t test a bloody receiver themselves and find the problems, yes i know they may need some beta testers but hell not at that dam price. I used to design products from an idea to the finished products and we did not sent out the sort of crap there is in the sat scene today. sorry to moan but yet again we are the bloody test bed for poor manufactures and testers.

You may have a very good point mate, but like any product the price will probably drop once it has been on the market for a while.

Not heard a thing hear either Crabber but at E800 -E900
I don't think I will be testing there product at that price. I think I will be asking them to pay me as a tester to find there bugs. How long has this been reported of coming to the market and still Beta testing!
There are a lot of products out on the market so the competition on price is going to be tough

    Cheers
