    Panasonic

    Purchased a Pana TH42PZ70 tv when its on it gets really hot is this common with plasma screens, its run so hot i have had to turn radiator off in that room and the room is 22ft x 14ft

    do you mean you havent seen that telly clip of that bbc presenter andi peters kissing his nice new plasma tv live onscreen ?

    burned his lips quite badly on it from what I remember

    and they are reputed to use approximately 4 times as much electric as a crt tv

    mine runs really cool i can touch the screen after 4 or 5 hours use no problem slightly warm but thats it

    same here ive got a panasonic 42inch plasma and its just warm, not hot.

    Got a samsung 42inch plasma here warm not hot here as well.

    At leats you will save gas with the heating being off. you could get one for each room!!!!

    lol,good point tho,i had a 42 inch plasma and never needed the radiator on,now have a 50 inch so gonna get warmer have to say tho,if i walk into the livingroom i still always say"you got the heating on?" they dont half let out some heat

    According to the plasma makers organisation average power consumption for a 50" screen is 399W. You don't get ought for nought.

    I have a Panny PX70 50" on a wall mount and it's not even warm - I would take it back if I were you.

    ive got the same as you m8 a Pana TH42PZ70.. had it about a month.. only slightly warm after being on all day..
    silly question maybe but..have you got it on a stand with plenty of room around it ..
    is it close to a source of heat (rad/fire/ect)..
    if not you need to get it looked at m8

    I have got a Panasonic TH-42PX700B wats output 270W the screen is not hot you can touch it and kiss the screen if you want (echelon's do you mean you havent seen that telly clip of that bbc presenter andi peters kissing his nice new plasma tv live onscreen ?

    burned his lips quite badly on it from what I remember) The back warms up a bit but still not that hot to touch. Must say is is a good plasma.

    panny plasmas these days aren't supposed to get to what you would really call hot - something wrong here - unless its an old one

    i have the same tv 42thpz70 and it is coolish to touch, well slightly warm, but you don't feel any heat off it you have to touch the screen to even feel a little warmth

    its on an average of 15 hours a day

    Sorted it out one the coo;ing fans was not running in the back
    all ok now

    i have a 42 hitachi and it runs cool no problems.
