I have the U4K & it is all singing & dancing. Main advantage it has over the D4K is the additional tuner slot. So if you need lots of tuners then it's the one to go for. For me it is overkill as I only use 1 Sat & 1 Terrestrial.

    What I don't Like about the U4K
    1. Size - It's a massive box which did not fit into my previous TV Cabinet.

What I like about the D4K
    1. Size
    2. Removeable HDD Caddy without opening the box (shame it is around the back which is usually inaccessible where I keep my boxes)
    3. Has enough Tuner options for my needs

    Conclusion
If I were buying new it would be the D4K but as I already have a U4K cannot justify replacing it simply to get a removable HDD. I use a USB stick anyway.

    I have both.

They use the same chipset in both machines, so the only thing you really need to decide is if you need 3 internal tuners or if 2 would do.

Duo4K SE has a newer kernel, but so far there is no advantage to this.

The LCD is better on the Ultimo4K (it's bigger and clearer) but other than that, there really is nothing feature wise between them.

Duo4K SE has the removable caddy so will only take a 2.5" hdd, whereas the Ultimo4K will take a 3.5" hdd, but these days that makes little difference as the price of hdd's has little between them.

The Duo4K SE is a bit smaller so may fit in your a/v unit a bit easier.

As said I have both and the Ultimo4K is still my main box as I prefer the lcd display it has.
