Peter Shilton stopped Ray getting far more England caps - what a truly golden time for England keepers! Ray was born in my native Lincs - Skeggie to be precise - but started his career with my birthplace town Scunnie United - followed by a most illustrious career with both Liverpool and Spurs!
Yes indeed, Ray was a complete gentleman throughout - RIP yet another England great!
