It may be 'special' at this present time as it was issued to commemorate the abolishing of the slave trade.
    Value though around 3

Despite all jovial comments to the contrary I think it's still a very interesting coin sonic1!

if it had the famous Minting Error it could be worth a lot up to about 1500 "if" it was MINT
sadly your coin is the standard poor condition without the minting error i think @ CokeAddict's offer is very generous indeed

finding a valuable 2 coin with minting error is very rare if you do you hit the jackpot but its highly unlikely .
i have several Victoria One Penny Coins from my metal detecting days but never did look at the value of those may be someday i will get it checked out but knowing my luck they will only be worth a few quid : ))

Looking at it, it has two minting errors, the writing around the side is upside down and the dots around the queens head are incomplete.

Can't offer face value when it has imperfections.

With 2 of them, you'll be lucky if you get a better offer

Just one maybe final point, surely it may be possible that this coin's apparent imperfections COULD render it much MORE valuable?

Not when there is literally dozens more on Flea Bay which are all well below the 3 original quoted offer
i think @ CokeAddict's counter offer of 1 is very reasonable given these new circumstances ...yes 1 for a 2 coin it would indeed seem unfair in the old days of bartering which we are almost back to again ironically in the current climate so cash is no longer king and virtual money is what makes someone wealthy even shops no longer want coins or cash and wearing a mask means you are protecting the shop and its owners and staff

the upside down writing is no error it is just the way it was picked up during the milling proccess

True Dave, but surely these anomalies are what CAN make some coins rarer than others and therefore more attractive to collectors plus value etc?

not realy theres a 50/50 chance of the pick up being the right way then theres the amount minted so no real added value.

if you toss a coin 10 times how many times do you get heads

    Slave Trade 2
    Slave Trade

    8,445,000
    MINTAGE

The nought in 1807 forms part of a chain, but it is broken to signify the end of slave trading. ... The Royal Mint struck 8,445,000 Abolition of the Slave Trade 2 coins for circulation, meaning they are fairly common. A normal, circulated 1807 2 pound coin is only worth its 2 face value.

What is the minting error on 1807 2 coin?

The good news is it's found on the coin which was released in 2007 to mark the 200th anniversary of the 1807 Abolition Of The Slave Trade. Why's that good? Because it's graded as 'scarcity 1', which means it's not that collectable because it's readily available.

What makes a coin rare and valuable? Coins become rare when there are fewer in circulation. Often the more rare a coin is, the more valuable it becomes to collectors. Resource’s such as Change Checker’s Scarcity Index can help give an indication of a coin’s value could be. Change Checker is an online platform that allows you to trade rare coins and notes with other collectors. The Scarcity Index takes into account the following: How easy it is to find a coin, which is based on how many of each coin design are listed as “collected” by collectors registered on the platform. How ‘in demand’ a coin is, which is based on how many times collectors request to swap for a certain design. Coins are given a score out of 100 and the higher the score the rarer and more potentially valuable a coin is.

This is a good site which i used to check 2 coins.
just before christmas i had around 1000 saved in 2 coins , i had a number of all of them except the olympics and common wealth games ones i never managed to find any.
I just bagged them up and took them to my bank for face value.
