I think it is more to do with the browser than windows 10. Most browsers like Firefox, Edge and Chrome do not let the video plugin run for security reasons. This makes me mad but that is another story, I want to be able to take responsibility for what runs on my PC not have big brother tell me what is good for me.
Anyway after getting that off my chest you haven't said which browser you use, Internet Explorer will still run some plugins so it is worth trying that if you haven't already.

use chrome get the windows explorer chrome extension and they work ok , you have to open the cctv via the extension for it to work , just installing it and using chrome does not work.

There is a free program I installed onto someones mini PC which is connected by HDMI to a TV on the wall to enable them to watch a CCTV camera . It is called ContaCam. I'm not sure if it allows PTZ although they have a x30 dome camera I have never tried it. I have also used XMEYE but it requires active X which did'nt seem to work on some browsers . I think it worked on IE but not Firefox.
ContaCam seems OK ,no problems to date , just add the camera ip address and it appears on the screen.

If you mean Firefox and Edge, I have already told you that they wont work and that Internet Explorer usually does.

Try typing internet explorer into the search box bottom left of screen or look in Program Files (x86) Internet Explorer then double click iexplore.exe and see what happens.

yes, i have to do that with my HIKVISION cameras, when adjusting settings or there is no video preview, and without the preview you cannot adjust certain things

no other browser works, i think purely because the manufacturer only ever coded the plugins with IE in mind, and not other browsers.

I use a previous version (V4) of Maxthon browser which, I think uses a chrome engine, plays most video sources,

V5 has removed the ability to pop out video sub-windows and make them full screen but V4 still can.

While on the subject, I searched for ages to find a free player for the saved CCTV files (.DAV which are encrypted) - most players are watermarked and limited. Then I discovered the Cherry Player 2.5.5 could play them without problems. I have no idea where I got it from. _www.cherryplayer.com .
