Corona tests local temproary test centers

Just to let you know you can get Corona tested at the local test centers just by signing up online, links below, I had one yesterday and the place was empty, maybe nobody cares anymore.

Its a drive through process where you just open your car window and they take the sample from you without getting out the car, filling out the online form before you go just declare you have some symptoms like a cold or sore throat and no one will challenge you and you just take the test.

They send the result to your email or mobile phone a few days later, they havn't managed to fill anywhere near all the available test slots so they are not too fussy at the moment who takes them, this won't last when peeps catch on.

Maybe my odd way of thinking but i can only see the test 50% useful If it comes back positive you know to shield yourself .
If negative How long is that valid for you could go out and catch it tomorrow, think you are totally safe i had the test yesterday .

I think the test for antibodies is the one that matters. Lets you know whether you have had the virus and therefore hopefully immune to getting it again.

The test is usefull to me as I get a lot of hay fever in the spring and I appear to have a bit of a sniffy cold in the mornings, its just usefull to know its not something worse masked by the hay fever.

Perfectly understood , but lets say you took test today how long before you think you need another one to feel safe ? , just a question and not having a go at all.

Five days later and still no result for my test (not the 48hrs claimed), it must be one of the large number sent to the USA for ana-lysing because they couldn't do it in the UK, they’ve forgotten how here !

By the time I get the result I could have caught the virus and either got over it or died, what’s the point of a test if it takes weeks to get a result ?
