    Sonoff custom firmware

    Hi
I have a few Sonoff basic switches. I have been told about custom firmware for them. I haven't been able to find a list of what features custom firmware gives.
Has anyone flashed one of these?
What extra features does it give?
    Is it worth doing?

    Thanks,

It lets you control them from raspberry pi - with programs such as domoticz, node red etc - instead of needing to use eWelink. However if you're even asking about this in here - you're best sticking to the factory firmware, which gets regular updates and is easy to use.

Basically in your case - all you're doing is turning a switch on or off, and with eWelink - you can easily do that (on or offline), have timers, works with Google Home/Alexa etc...

Probably those wanting to mess with firmware should read this:

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: Before flashing ANY firmware - make a backup of your original firmware first (and note the MAC and SERIAL of the device you're flashing).

    Thank you for the info.
I was told that you need to flash these to get them to work with the Samsung smart things but I dont think thats the case.
I will stick to stock firmware as for me I will not be gaining anything.
    Thanks.
