We have a double whammy here
A school 5 miles from us has been closed due to suspected coronavirus & there is only one way to access where we live due to floods!

This may be your only option ...

Plan B wrap a scarf around your face and keep your car windows rolled up while speeding past the school in question .
COVID-19 is becoming a real ugly threat not even Malware bytes and Kaspersky can handle this new virus attack
on a serious note protect yourself floods will go away eventually but COVID-19 seems to be here to stay for quite some time

In perspective, I think I heard that we have 45,000 deaths from normal annual flu in UK - so it's easy to work out statistically how - at least SO far - this corona virus is SO relatively insignificant in comparison - but not to say we don't have to take it very seriously of course!

According to WHO with the weather now warming up significantly in China the outbreak will quickly come to an end. Apparently this virus doesn't survive in sun & heat. So I guess the same will happen in Europe once we get into warmer weather also.

I think someone or some group is going to make a fortune from this little event.

This was the only year in 7 that I decided not to have my flu' jab. Just hope I don't die regretting it.

@Nikkas, the face mask makers are already there, my in laws in HK cannot get masks or sanitary products for love or money.
When they manage to get anything it is at inflated prices and the shop blame the makers!!

    Ah the old Noddy suit.

They were good for keeping warm when on exercise on cold nights.
Mind you, you looked like a coal man after wearing one as they were lined with charcoal.
    Happy days.

Screwfix in my local area are rationing face masks to 5 per customer.

I couldn't care less about the virus. I don't think it can hurt anyone who isn't frail from age or health issues.
Technically, I am on the vulnerable list because I am diabetic, but I am quite healthy so don't expect problems if I get it.

My wife uses face masks all the time so we already had a fair stock.

My in laws in various places in China have seemed pretty laid back about the whole thing but they are all mainly in the S & SE. Our daughter was fined RMB 1000 (about £80) for breaking curfew to go to a nightclub. Her 3 friends were fined also. So all being taken very seriously by the authorities. My relatives report to the misus daily over Wechat & they say things are slowly getting back to normal now.

The firm I still part time for has reopened all offices in China again now except in Tanjin & Wuhan where colleagues are still being told to work from home.

I live in Tenerife. In January we had a flu epidemic (declared epidemic by GOV) 13 people died - nothing in the press.
Now there are 4 people with Chinese virus and the world goes mad!
    Get some perspective.
Yesterday, there was a post on FB by ITV looking to rent a boat, the evening news had them trolling round the virus hotel in a rib, getting interviews with residents. Press looking for sensationalist stories or what.

Could it be that flu epidemic was actually Coronavirus, just that nobody had put 2 and 2 together as they thought it was contained in China still at that point ?

Only big difference I'd heard about CV19 is that it had originated in China from someone eating raw meat - or even bats - or even snakes - so take your pick, that's if any of that is true of course, but if so it's nowhere similar to 'basic' flu origins?

The symptoms of it are similar to regular flu, it's passed on by contact and China kept it quiet for as long as they could.

Iinterestingly just reading up about pandemics and the Spanish flu of 1918 killed between 20 and 50 million people worldwide and infected one third of the planets population. it was so deadly as it triggered an overreaction of the body's immune system which ravages the stronger immune system of young a d u l t s. They still don't know how it started in humans.

I live in the SE and I have not seen anyone wearing a mask except on tv.
Yes, people are panic buying toilet rolls, paracetamol, pasta and tinned tomatoes. Probably other things too.
It's crazy. I said to my family that I would never do it as there will continue to be a supply of the usual stuff.
Sadly, I was wrong. Because people are panic buying certain items the shelves are bare in the above areas.
My family are now paying the price for being sensible. It is difficult to source the above items where I live.

We did go out the other day and visited 5 supermarkets just to get one pack of toilet rolls. People are so selfish.
Supermarkets should start limited how many of any items you can buy in one shop.

Same happening here in Eire too ...i saw a woman today she went into our local shop in front of me and bought 4 bales of toilet paper there is 24 rolls in each bale i says to her jeez your family got the wild sh1tes [ Skitter ] or what ??
she gave me a dirty look and grabbed the last 4 bottles of hand sanitizers WTF is wrong with these retarded people anyhow ?
i may be buy 2 boxes of hankies from ALDI at 39c just to have something in reserve which will likely last a year to be honest but no fcuking way am i wiping my nose with bog roll ,
and i seriously doubt Covid -19 is giving anyone the wild sh1tes either ...i'll wash my hands with soap and hot water or fairy liquid
like i always do there's plenty of hand sanitizers appearing in most public business's in the last few days anyhow ,
paracetamol, pasta and tinned tomatoes certainly will never be useful if ever someone does be unlucky to catch Covid-19
people really need to cop on and stop being so damn retarded be smart practice good oral hygiene basic sh1t and at least if you catch this glorified Flu bug you are not passing it around and if it cant spread it cant survive it 'aint rocket science : )
    Rant over
