Dummies guide to setting up Vu+ Uno4K

    Useful Software
    7zip - http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
    Winrar - http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Either of the above software can be used for unzipping the files.
    VuCC - https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthrea...ol-Centre-V0-8
    Softcam Concierge - https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthrea...-os******erver

    Initial set-up procedure.
Before extracting the image to your USB Pen drive. Make sure the USB Pen drive is formatted to FAT32.
Insert USB Pen Drive containing the image you want to install into the USB socket at the rear.
Connect LAN cable from router to the Ethernet socket at the rear.
Connect Satellite Dish feed cable to the "LNB in" connector at the rear.
Connect HDMI lead from TV to the HDMI socket at the rear.
Connect power supply input to the 12V input socket at the rear and plug the PSU into the mains power.
Switch on unit using the power switch at the rear.

    1. Install image.
Download a USB image file, eg OpenATV Image from
    http://images.mynonpublic.com/openat...p?open=vuuno4k

Unzip the openatv-5.3-vuuno4k_usb.zip file and extract the vuplus folder to a USB PEN Drive.

After unzipping to the pen drive you should have a folder on your USB pen drive named vuplus

In the vuplus folder is another folder named uno4k

Power off Vu+ Uno4k with switch on the back.
Insert the USB Pen Drive into the USB socket on the back.
    Power on Vu+ Uno4k.

The LED on the front panel will blink a few times then will begin pulsing.

The pulsing indicates it's flashing the image.

Once the image has successfully flashed the pulsing will stop and change to blinking on and off.

When the LED is blinking on and off it's now safe to power off with the switch on the back and remove the USB Pen Drive.

Power on again to reboot the receiver, job done.

    2. Setup Motorised Dish using USALS

First get your longitude & latitude info from _http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm

Enter your post code into satsig.net and you'll get the correct LON & LAT info for your location.

Example if I enter the following UK postal code: SE1 6JZ into _http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm

I get the following LON & LAT:
    Longitude: -0.1042°
    WEST
    Latitude: 51.4979°
    NORTH

    Press Menu
    Select Setup Press OK
    Select Service searching Press OK
    Select Tuner configuration Press OK
    Select Tuner A Press OK

This is how to configure Tuner for Motorised Dish using USALS.
Use the < > buttons on remote to select Configuration: Simple.
Use the down button to select mode and use the < > buttons to set to Positioner.

So your screen should look something like this...

    Configuration Mode: Simple
    Mode: Positioner
Longitude: 0.104 (Make sure you enter your own Longitude settings here)
    WEST
Latitude: 51.497 (Make sure you enter your own Latitude settings here)
    NORTH

    Press OK to save.

    Press Menu
    Select Setup Press OK
    Select service searching Press OK
    Select Positioner Setup Press OK
Select goto 0 Press RED Button

    Dish should now goto 1w.

    3. Installing OpenATV Softcam Feed
Use VuCC and click on IPK Installer.
Select the folder on your local hard drive that has the softcam-feed-arm-ahf_1.1_armv7ahf-vfp-neon.ipk file.
Click on the Upload and Install IPK file button.

Once the ipk has been installed reboot the receiver using the power switch on the back.

    Press Menu
    Select Plugins
Press Green Button for Download Plugins
You'll now see Softcams in your plugins feed.
    Select Softcams press OK
Select the latest oscam and press OK to install.

Your oscam config files are located in the following folder on your box /usr/keys/oscam_atv

Use Softcam Concierge to upload your config files.
    Softcam Concierge download link below.
    https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthrea...-os******erver

    4. Activate Cam
Press the Blue button and select Softcam
    Select Softcam Panel
Use the < > on remote to Select oscam and press OK.

    5. Upload a Channel List
Download a pre-configured channel list example catseye's from
    https://www.satpimps.co.uk/forumdisp...gma-2-Settings

For motorised dishes you'll want to look for this thread "CATSEYE E2 settings lists (VARIOUS SATELLITES)"
Go to the last page in that thread to download the latest Catseye E2 Settings File All Sats.rar file.

Unzip the Channel List to your local HDD.

    Example C:\Catseye E2 Settings File 75 East-45 West

Use VuCC to upload channel list to Uno4K.
Select Upload Channel List and select the local folder on your hard drive that contains the unzipped channel list files, eg C:\Catseye E2 Settings File 75 East-45 West
    Then select Upload Channel list.
Once the channel list has uploaded reboot the receiver using the power switch on the back.
