Spiderbox HD6000 Remote code for Universal Remote?

    Hi.

(I have seen a few posts related to this, but did not find the answer)

The remote for my Spiderbox HD6000 started working erratically.. and it died. It has ceased to be. It is an ex-remote.

I checked with the sponsor, but he does not sell replacement remotes.

So I went on amazon and bought an "RM-Series Replacement Remote Control for Spiderbox HD6000".

Unfortunately, it does not seem to work. Red light when pressing buttons, but nothing happens on the Spiderbox.

Now, as I cannot use my old remote to teach functions to an universal remote, does anyone know which code I should enter manually into a Universal remote control so that it does control my Spederbox HD6000?

Googling for it has so far been useless, by the way.

This is your chance to shine!

    Thanks.

I had a remote that packed up, I took it apart and noticed one of the legs on the IR diode was a bit loose, I dabbed both joints with some fresh solder and it was going again, its worth a try.

Do all the buttons on the receiver front panel work ok ? Ideally you need to try a known working remote to establish which is faulty the remote or the sensor.

    Hi Tonyo,

Yes both legs on the IR diode are loose. The remote is definitely faulty. But I have no soldering iron... yet.

All buttons on the front panel work OK.

    Thanks.

    Hi TonyO,

I bought a soldering iron, applied some magic drops (not a very refined job, I admit it)... and the remote now works.

I do not know if it will last for long though.

    Thansk for the advice.

Your home and hosed Tinto, I've had to fix quite a few IR remotes over the years, its usually dry joints on the IR diodes or corrosion in the battery compartment due to old leaking batteries.
