    CAS 3 and Windows 10

I bought a new PC which works with Windows 10, and I experienced that CAS 3 is no longer working, because a suitable driver for Windows 10 is missing.
Where can I obtain this driver?

Install a virtual PC on your computer and install windows xx on the virtual pc (you'll be able to use it that way), or in windows 10 you can turn off driver signature enforcement, see here for details:

    Code:

I had already installed the 9.8.5 version, but CAS Studio does not work. I suppose that the driver for windows 10 is not yet included.
Concerning the turning off of the driver enforcement I think that I better keep my hands off.

Hi Edgar, you need to look in the folder where the files extracted to, there is a drivers folder, inside that are 2 folders, one for 64bit, and one for 32bit drivers. In device manager, find the item missing its driver, and then browse to the correct folder 64bit or 32bit, and you should be able to install the driver.

The problem is, that in fact a driver is found, but this driver cannot be installed because of a faulty signature description in a certain file, as the message says.

In my experience CAS3 struggles to function successfully in Windows 8.1, never mind Windows 10!

Hi Edgar, are you saying the file is not digitally signed. I`ve never had a problem with any of the duolabs files. Which file is giving trouble, and what exactly does it say when if fails?.

After initializing the search for the driver for CAS3 I get the following message from Windows:

    "Unknown device. Driver not available.
Error when installing the driver for the device.
Driver software was found, but an error occured while trying to install it. The INF-file of the third party supplier does not include an information about the digital signature.
In case you know the producer of the device you could search for driver software on the website of this producer."

I already tried to contact Duolabs by e-mail, but I did not get any answer from them.

    Hi,
    This worked for me.....

Go to “Settings” from the Start menu.
    Select “Update & Security”.
From the menu on the left select “Recovery”.
On the right you will see “Advanced start-up”. Click the “Restart now” button. Your PC will ask you to “Please wait ”.
In the next menu, select “Troubleshoot”, then select “Advanced options”.
    Select “Start-up Settings”.
This next page tells you the options you will have when you press the “Restart” button. Press the “Restart” button.
    Now your PC will restart.

You will be presented with a menu. As you want to Disable driver signature enforcement, you need option 7. Press the function key “F7”.
    Windows will now boot.

After that (when the PC is running again) go to device mangler, find the Cass device (with a yellow mark against it), right click on it and manually select the driver you want to load from the duolabs driver folder.
If you ignore the Windoze warnings and just tell it to install your selected driver, it should work.

    regards,
    Ken.

Hi again Edgar, you dont want windows to search for the file, you need to install it manually. Open device manager, highlight the unknown device, under action, click "add legacy Hardware". click "Next, and select install the hardware that I manually select from a list". click "NEXT" and "NEXT" again. Select have disk, and browse to the 64 bitdrivers folder in the cas3 software folder. select the INF file. IT should install just fine. Hope this helps. cheers!!
