If I were you I would get this Spiderbox especially for a caravan. In my experience this box has the best tuner out there I pickup more channels with weak signals than any other box. I would say it's perfect for a caravan were you might be struggling to fine tune your satellite system this box will make it easy. You would also discovery that on the online sales shop they are charging the earth for one of these boxes so as said head to the sponsors shop.

The forum sponsor has stated that they are the New Spiderboxs, and the old spiderboxs were £58 from Lee, and the latest spiderboxs are £90 from the same source, and furthermore if they were the old receivers surely one would have been able to load that latest spiderbox patch which is available on the forum, instead of having the wait for blackdevil to upload the newest firmware.

    Hi Aldo

Just ordered the new spiderbox from Lee. I used to have a 9900HD so I'm not expecting many problems setting it up. When you mentioned the new software coming out on another thread, is this updated by the reciever online? I think I had to manually update the software with a usb stick on the old box.

Blackdevil has said there will be a new firmware update, it was in the following thread, and he will no doubt give details of the setup procedure with the new firware:

    Hi
Sorry Aldo, I was under the same impression that Echelon stated, I will keep my nose out then.

I, like others thought its just a new batch of the old receiver. Not surprised by the price tag ( it's only normal that the price goes up as the demand grows and the stock is shrinking) What gets me puzzled though , is the statement that there will be a new patch with a brand new IKS on what looks like an old box (or is it?). Perhaps some more info from BD would clear the confusion, coz going by the photo of the box and the specs it is the same box as it was thus far? , ( if it is a new box some cosmetic changes to the box to make it easier to recognise would be welcome )

Slow moving stock thought they would have all been snapped up by now.

recently, I have seen posts by blackdevil that a further production run of the 6000 had begun and that shops would get those new stock , so IMHO these are new spiderboxes, but are the old 6000 model on a new production run, not a NEW MODEL of spiderbox

so new stock of the old model , at the original price before they were discounted last year !

as for patches and IKS, best not to make assumptions, let us see what transpires , otherwise we can do "what if" all day

login to IKS is dependent on the mac code being "on the system", not the actual patch (although they will need patching)

so its MY OPINION that these are not the expected new model of spiderbox , as I would have expected some sort of change to the numbering system and a change to the specification as well

I have not seen anything by the sponsor saying that these are the new spiderboxes

in fact, their site says this and this alone

I've got a small supply of brand new stock. Please note, Free to Air Satellite Channels only.
so new stock, not new model ( there is a difference ! )

    It also says

" The new Spiderbox 6000HD has arrived! Spiderbox 6000 HD features PVR Ready via USB - Youtube and 1 Card Slot (Conax) "

and as has previously stated, until Lee or blackdevil come to the forum and categorically state that these definitely are the New Spiderboxs that everyone has been expecting for the last few months, so it maybe that it is the old model with some new features/modifications or whatever, until the clarification is given in this situation we will all be assuming that are or they are not the new spiderbox that most members have been waiting for.

I believe it said that on the original advert too, when it was new to the market , plus the price was about the same (or about £99) - at the time , so I believe that line has not been altered for a couple of years , but the NEW STOCK comment has been added

perhaps people need to stop making assumptions, and dont put words in the sponsors mouth

it used to say Lanry on buses, but they didnt sell it or make it

new stock means new stock of the previous article as far as I am aware , new model means the replacement

my sister works in morrissons, reordering items, when the new stock of baked beans come in , its the usual branded tins of say Heinz beanz, new stock of the previous product , not a new product in its own right

when the info people require is available, plus the new files , they will be posted, until then I suggest people stop typing and stop making assumptions about why a new patch is being made available,

if BD wants to tell us he will do so, until then we are not fileguys making the patches so we have no idea why a new patch is required , or why the old one cannot be used either , leave it to the experts in that field

he said this here on 23 june 2015 in post #7

    https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthrea...iderbox-6000hd

Some pieces of Spiderbox HD6000 will be available soon.
It took us a little longer than expected.

Also new Spiderbox model will be available a little later.
he could not have made it any clearer

    and then anrakh said this

    Code:
According to my sources, the Spiderboxes due to arrive soon are the existing model of the Spiderbox 6000.
Not a new type of Spiderbox.
There seems to be some misunderstanding due to language difficulties here.

so as I said , in my opinion its new stock of the old product, not the long awaited replacement , until we hear different , that is the tack I will be working from

to answer the original question, its worth it if you believe the price is good for the goods being offered , or if you really cannot do without one no matter what the price is (like an IPAD or IPHONE, people go stupid buying them as soon as they hit the shops)

blackdevil has now clarified the position here

    https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthrea...l=1#post935408

so old model, new stock, new patch required for the reasons he stated , no IKS if using the april 2015 patch (which can be used)

so anyone buying one can use the old patch , old channel list , old softcam , but would be wise to use the new patch when its made available

so post #2 was correct, as were mine
