    TM5402 mk3 CSinfo Help

l am trying to download csinfo.txt to a USB when selecting >Info and upload CSinfo it indicates " don't power off " however after several hours of waiting powered the STB off. I can download from a USB to the STB which is successful but seems unable to "upload" to USB ?

Uploading channel data to the USB and keys works fine

Is this an issue with the software or the configuration ?

there are 3 different ways to enter the CSinfo data page as follows

    1. Remote Control: type 8281 followed by password 0000

    2. Remote Control: Press IP Button Then type 0000 into remote control

    3. Remote Control: Press IP button Then Type 8281 into Remote Control

Try each of the above until one works, And Thanks to @Manic01 for ways 2 & 3

Thanks digicon, but think Ross & Feilim were really asking how to use USB stick method of up & downloading cs info - so assume nobody's yet cracked it?
I know that in theory it should work, but I always struggle with it and use the remote control method above!!

Not sure what you mean i dont have any problems uploading a ready made out CSinfo.txt file to the 5402M3 and i also dont have a problem downloading the CSinfo.txt file from the 5402M3 to a USB stick either.

To upload a ready made CSinfo.txt file via usb i just make sure appropriate file is on the USB labelled CSinfo.txt press USB button goto Upload/Dowload option press OK select the 'CSinfo.txt' file and again press OK the file then uploads to the receiver.

If i want to make a backup of the 'CSinfo.txt' file that is already on the STB i simply type '8281' into the remote control followed by password '0000' you are then greeted by the CCcam/Newcamd Page i then and this is a must switch off any line you have connected so that it shows disconnected after which i press the 'SAT' button on the remote control which then Downloads from the STB to your USB stick which gives me a backup of my 'CSinfo.txt' file.

What i have noticed and this needs looking at being fixed is if you goto the USB menu and then to Upload/Download section and then press the 'INFO' button which gives you a side menu screen of which file to download such as 'Channel data', 'IPTV', Softcam Key' and 'CSinfo.txt' if you select the 'CSinfo.txt' the Box Locks up.

If you follow the guide above where you type in '8281' then '0000' and then 'SAT' button the file downloads to your USB no problem

    Regards

Thanks to everyone for reviewing this I have tried this and this works l guess the 'info' method will be addressed in the future.

I have made this a "sticky thread" as those 2 answers are the most comprehensive answers I have seen in one thread for both options for this task

if anyone cannot manage this after reading the details above its time to take up knitting instead

Ok, will now put my knitting away and become a monk instead!
Seriously I will have another look at this - even though at present its really not necessary as my cs is already set up manually as I said, but I do know that I'm not the only one who's experienced issues with loading (on & off) cs text via USB!
However I do respect digicon's very informative & helpful post above too!
