have you had it sat on another unit that's switched on , mine did that, turn out to be it was too hot , I had it sat on the virgin receiver, I unplug it from the back let it cool down , and moved it , been OK ever since

    Hi
First try unplugging the LNB cable at the Spiderbox end, then try unplugging from the power supply, then reconnecting, if same try the recovery method

deffo try it with no lnb cable in , just the power lead , switch off at mains , remove all leads except power

switch on and test , see if the red light stays on or not

if it does, try the recovery tool , a null modem cable and xp desktop or tower pc

It can also be a short in the cable due to maybe water getting in I would also renew the ends of the cables outside. But as Aldo says try the recovery first if not then defo your cables.

hi, satscene, cable ends seem ok, have connected all leads left out the lnb cable green light comes on,as soon as i connect lnb cable it goes back to red,i dont want to go down road of recovery if i have to,i was wondering if the lnb connection some where is broken or is that the norm for green light not to come back on if there is something wrong with the lnb cable, thanks

    @ darkson
A couple of eliminations then. make up a NEW short length coax with NEW 'F' connectors on it, take the Spiderbox out to the dish (hope its not on the roof) and power it up there using an extension lead. If same get a new LNB.
