azbox stuck in boot mode for trying to load up E2

    How is everyone doing today?
I have an azbox ultra stuck in boot mode.
what got my to this problem is that I loading E2 firmware and renamed it patch
,and saved it in the usb stick. I then inserted it behind the ultra. The system didn't find the file,so I pulled it out and choose the option that
said, "reboot without update". MY Receiver is stuck in boot mode now. I tried inserting factory firmware through the usb stick named as patch.bin it still can't read it
your help and comment would be appreciated.

    Rename it to : patch
    No bin and try again
Insert the usb stick and reboot from the power button at rear

You should have read the many how-to's before you started!

Booting can be solved quite easely you only need usb2serial device

Then for the future read how-to on openrsi site

Changing the filename from PATCH.BIN TO PATCH

Hi... I have tried changing the filename from, PATCH.BIN as you have suggested, to PATCH with no filename type descriptor.
Unfortunately your cure didn't work. It seems likely the aborted boot sequence in the AZBOX flash chip (U14) has not loaded sufficiently into the whole of the boot routine to allow access to that part of the USB thumb drive that programs it to accommodate your USB flash drive with the repaired boot on it.

I also took the precaution of ensuring the filename was not PATCH.E2 and changed that to PATCH.

I'm sorry to report that didn't work either...

Seems the only possible remedy left is to do the cure using the serial cables commonly sold on the 'net especially for the job and which uses an USB to COM Port TTL converter chip on the cable. It plugs into the J4 Single Inline Line (SIL) 4 pin plug located on the motherboard right next to the multi-strand ribbon cable that goes up to the front panel. The white dot on the motherboard hard up against the SIL Plug indicates PIN 1. on the plug.

The rest of the instructions to attempt the re-load of the boot instructions are also plentifully available on the net and particularly under YouTube or by Google..
If that doesn't work or gives you the technical heebie jeebies, I have managed to buy brand new replacement motherboards for the AZBOX PREMIUM HD from a number of suppliers. Just search around and you'll eventually find a supplier for AZBOX motherboards.

The other option is to replace the Surface Mount Device (SMD) flash chip by gently desoldering it VERY GENTLY WITH A PROPER SMD SOLDERING TOOL and using the low melting point solder also available on the 'net. New SMD pre-programmed Flash chips, the SMD soldering tool and the low temperature soldering kits are all available on one of the popular ******* sites. I can't mention brand names or ******* site or other URLS here without breaching this forum site's rules but be patient and rigorous and you'll find them just as I did.
