Sorry to bump an age old thread, but I'm trying to install channel picons on a DM8000 hard drive. It is on a blackhole image.
I have created a folder and ftp'ed them to the hard drive the dreambox hasn't recognised them.

The picons files are named as the channel number, I've read somewhere that the picon files need to be named the same as the dreambox ID for each channel. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Hi

First of all if you use a DM 8000 you should Flash your self
a new Image cause the Original Blackhole Images for Dreamboxes, from the former Board Nabilosat, are
VERY OLD,and the Skins in that Image donīt support big Picons if i remember right they
    have to be 100x60
As segate1 wrote the Picons should be on a Folder called picon
and also should be on USB Stick,if you put it on your HDD
you must have in mint that the HDD runs all the Time.

    Edit :
the name of the Picons are also different they are not named as the channels number
have a look at the .txt filemy File is to big i could not upload it sorry but they have to look
like this, just a few BBC Channels
    Code:
    BBC News (28.2E)-> 1_0_1_2876_800_2_11A0000_0_0_0.png

Thanks for the replies. Apologies for the delay in responding.

I don't have a spare USB stick at the moment, so are trying to get the picons working on the HDD.
I've downloaded some picons with what appears to be the naming convention that hardriver mentioned and have ftp'ed them to a folder called 'picon' in two locations, but neither seem to work -
    /media/hdd/picon AND /picon
Can I check that one of these folders should be the correct location?

Is there an image that you recommend? And what would be the notable benefits to that image?
(My DM shows 'Ferrari SSL78F' on booting if that makes any difference. Not sure if it is genuine or a clone)

I've flashed images to Dreamboxes before and have either had problems with the flashing process or didn't find any real benefits with the newer image. So just want to be sure before I start going down the route of reflashing.

    Hi

You have to insert the picons path in the Settings but sorry that i can not say
were that is,itīs to long ago that i use the Nabilo Image maybe someone else can
    answer that.
I use the DMM Experimental OE 2.0 Image with gp3 and onestep Cam Feed
but a Image is a userīs choice cause all are bit different
If you are not that familiar with Flashing and Install plugins than
maybe a Image with all futeres,or the possibility to install them over the Image Team Server,
are the better choice maybe Open Atv or the Pli Image is the right one
