Have a look in the Dummies guide it's a "sticky"in the Vu+solo section, i use the latest Black Hole image but it's entirley up to you, which one you want to install, good luck with setting it up ,it's a fantastic box.

I like the ViX image, but it is down to personal taste. Have a look at Cross EPG downloader to get some very good EPG data for the box.

IIRC Vix ships without any cam installed. You might want to read up on how to install a cam of your choice.

Other then setting it up to match your setup I don't think you need anything more .

Thank you for your replies. The box I got is the vu+ UNO. I have installed enigma 2 and catseyes. My longitude and latitude are correct. Thing is when I go on a free to air channel like BBC one or itv 3 all I get is a black screen.
Then it comes up with no transponder data but I have a signal of 80%
    any ideas please.

There is no gaurantee ir has been done before you installed it, what version is your VIX image ?
Black Hole image have the FPGA plugin so you just update with a few button presses.
Other than that follow the instruction in the link I gave you.
    You update with a USB.

You will need a ftp programme i use flashxp but there are loads of programmes, you need to ftp into your box, by adding the ip addy of your box then usr name n password and then find your cccam cfg file and edit it m8, im sure there are numerous sticky threads on here how to do this.

You also need to install CCcаm. As mentioned above you can't do this directly with the ViX image, but it's easy to do.

Look at this post for information and files - satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?146911-Cаm-pack-for-ViX-Image. There you can find the mipsel.IPK files which you have to FTP to your box, then follow the instructions.

If you want to install a later CCCаm version you will find the IPK files around the forum.
