    my first twin tuner..!

    hi all... my setup is 1 fixed dish on 28.2 only (tuner A and config is simple single..)
    and motorised for everything else ( but not 28.2) (tuner B advanced and usals..)

    as regards to this tuner config setup... can i watch something on 28.2 and and record something else on 28.2 at the same time.?
    or do i need to include 28.2 in my tuner B config..?

    and if i do need to include that sat on tuner B (motorised dish) how do i make it so tuner A (fixed dish) has first prioirity on 28.2.. and tuner B (motorised dish) is the one which records..!!

    hope this makes sense..!!

    I guess that you have ordered a version with 2 dvb/s2 tuners ?
    As From factory they have 1 sat and a second hybrid tuner (Cable & Terrestrial).

    To Watch/Record 2 diferent tp's on the same Sat, you need to have the same Sat on both tuners.

    The box, will first pick the fixed dish, and after the Motor, if needed !

    PS: Congrats, excelent choice !

    yes i have 2 dvbs2 tuners... iv had the extra one fitted..!

    oh i see... so the having the fixed dish with the simple single config has priority on the motorised config on the same sat.. is this command something thats built into the image or the box itself..?

    Very interested in this new box. That would be my first dm!

    About the DVB-S2 tuner, I read that there's no "out" output on the tuner, so I guess there's no possibility of loop-through connecting twin DVB-S2 tuners? (If only one dish connected). I'm so disappointed... Any workaround for this?

    Like with the 8000, on config setup, choose "loop thru" !

    I don't see the point to have 2 Sat tuners with a Single Dish/Lnb .

    For that and a single wire arriving from Dish, No need a Twin Tuner !
    As you will obtain exactly the same result, with 1 or 2 Tuners !
    Can record and watch a

    @alaxindoo,
    Be carefull not to get these confused. If you have two or more lnb inputs then there is no problem with varying channels or H/V polarity, BUT if you have the one input and use loopthrough, you are limited as to what you can watch when recording another channel due to H/V polarity. With the chosen one recording/playing then the others will be dimmed [in DB]on prog list except for those on same polarity ie.H or V - both cant be mixed. Hope that helps - Brain As Passete starts to say till he was cut off!! LOL

    You Can record and watch another channel, on the same transponder !

    For a Twin tuner, the interest is to have 2 cables arriving from exterior, Twin Lnb or 2 Dishes !

    It's not true : Using a loopthrough , each tuner can sync on a different frequency (different TPs ) : And that enlarges the choice possibilities in service list !
    For me, it's a big mistake to don't have this possibility on DM7020

    My DM8000 has only 1 cable, and uses loopthrough
    I can certify the 2 tuners are frequently in use....

    @Doume
    But only if TP is same polarity - only Horizontal OR vertical can come down on one wire. Different frequency.different transponder but only V or H. Brain

    Yes, same polarity, and same band ( low or high), and same satellite, of course.
    But in France, with Canal Sat, 90% of their TPs are on the same band and same polarity : We're lucky !

    Thanks for completing this point, Doume. As I'm most of the time on Astra1 and C+ channels (mostly V polarity) a loop through between the 2 tuners would definitely be useful. As it is not possible on the 7020 HD by hardware, maybe the software solution suggested by passete (config setup) would work. If somebody can confirm...

    Dreambox 7020hd installed on dual-tuner. Problem occurs when changing between channels, there is loss of picture, only freeview still working. The only solution I can find at the moment is to restart the box. Can anybody help resolve this problem please?
