It has an e-SATA connection, can output at 1080p and has MKV support. All of this points to a better CPU (Sigma?).

On top of that it has swappable tuners so that you can have Cable or Terrestrial tuners instead of Sat ones.

hmmm hopefully the firmware developments for this one might be compatible with the S4000>

i thought our S4000's could do MKV - who cares so much about 1080i.

Its the same as the Icecrypt STC6000 except the UK model with have Terrestrial HD DVB T2 tuner options(I'm not saying the Octagon model won't have this option but its not necessary in Germany).
Its all based the same firmware as the S4000 (you might have wondered why there was a UK terrestrial LCN improvements in the last release, well this refered to the STC6000 not the S4000 or the Octagon SF1018).
It is smaller than the S4000 with a internal 2.5" HDD. It supports MKV's and internet browsing.
The STC6000 should be available in early January at the same time as the Octagon.

What do you mean? it runs Enigma2.

STI chipset is famous for having excellent PQ, question is if Enigma2 runs good on this box or if there are many dirty hacks to make it work...

I tried to Google STC6000 but didn't come up with anything except your post, you don't happen to have any picture of how it looks?

Yes Picture Quality is Awsome on this ST boxes.
I hope that Fortis is giving a bit more support to this boxes and the OEM providers get some sort of beter support from them.

Likvid my fellow pimper your wrong!
The Icecrypt STC 6000 and its Fortis reseller friends are a completely new product.
The AB IPBOX9900 has been around for a while now it has a slower ST processer. Its an Enigma 2 driven machine from a different manufacturer.
If you don't know the difference then it would be better to say nothing. Your only confusing ManikM into thinking he can load Cuberevo software into his Icecrypt.....lol!
As for Icecrypt STC6000 details from your google search then you heard it here first!
The details will be on the Icecrypt website soon but its still going through pre-release product testing.
Octagon don't do this, they create the demand first with publicity then fix the machine.

The Icecrypt STC6000 will be cheaper, without buying from dodgy auction sites.

So what CPU from ST does it have? you don't even mention what core frequency it's running at, even Octagon hides that in their specs.

What is the other manufacturer you are talking about?

Enigma2 won't succeed on ST platform if you haven't done better with your relationship with ST giving out source code.

What teams are working on it now?

Octagon SF1028P is already on market and the DVB-T2 tuner for it is already on the market so you are a bit too late now i guess...
