    latest firmware

    ICECRYPT.S4000HDPVR.v1.08.22

i run a few timed recordings most days, and i find my box is crashing VERY often.

some simple things need fixing with this firmware

if i put the box in standby then bring it on, the time reverts to AUTO and not manual, and picks up the wrong time (depending on what sat\channel its on)

it also has some kind of memory, if its on RAI1 (13e) and i put it in standby, when i turn it on, it might go to 5e (and a random channel, such as the money channel)

does this not p1ss you guys off too?

the lock ups happen randomly, i regularly come home to find the timed recordings have failed, and my menus locked and have to power off, and go through setting clock to correct date, and manual....

jeez - can we get the basics right first pls? lol

i think im gonna drop down 2 f/w's

mine isnt on a motor and I dont do recordings , so cant help on those matters

but if you read my comments in the enigma 2 thread you will see I wanted the correct software and plugins sorted out for this box , and thats BEFORE messing with other images for other boxes

if this isnt done then the icecrypt is in danger of following the tm9100 which has never had decent and stable software issued for it , and that lets down a perfectly good box

I do not want to see the same thing happen on this box , which is why I think the software developers should concentrate on making the icecrypt firmwares and plugins work properly and do what we want , not try to make it a vu+ duo or dm8000 clone

once the basics are sorted on this box with all problems addressed , let them try making e2 images etc , but not until this box has good and stable firmware and plugins etc

if you buy an icecrypt , its reasonable to assume that the patch makers will continue to bring out suitable icecrypt firmwares and plugins , not go off in a different direction

    thats my 10p anyway

Quite a few Fortis' users are experiencing loss of settings, especially with the last two firmwares. I'm was one of them and so switched back to 1.08.09. This is pretty stable but even so, does occasionally suffer from the "lose settings" bug.

cheers Denton, ive done a factory reset on the new firmware, and giving it another go.

if it aint no good, im gonna go back to v1.08.10 - it was the most stable for me

Please contact Icecrypt direct and let them know the problem - otherwise it'll never get fixed.

    Thanks Denton.

    How would i do that?

Since installing the .10 firmware, my box hasn't crashed, and successfully recording 5 things over the weekend, on different satellites.

I have downgraded to .10 and my settings have not changed and the box hasnt crashed. The plugin is alittle bit more stable.

hmm box crashed today, im starting to think it might be the OCTACAS plugin - i have stopped it for now, and going to see how it runs (i only use it for SLY card and unscrambling C4 HD)

Its out now for octagon, also I see a new octacam that's been improved and is apparently stable.
