    Unable to get Astra 28.2e

I have an Echostar 3600ip which is motorised. Everything has been working fine till a few days ago.

I am no longer able to get a signal on Astra 28.2e.

All the other satellites work fine and I have tried tuning different channels in again on Astra 28.2e.

But I get no signal strength at all.

I have also tried pointing the dish to Astra 28.2e where it was working and plugged in a Sly Receiver and get the same.

Could it be my LNB or something.

    Any ideas please?

id rule out your lnb if it works ok on other sats, and your cable for the same reason so has to be alignment ,is 28e at the edge of your arc if so check to see if your pole hasnt moved should be 100% plum or the sats at either end of arc suffer

Go into the menu and try nudging the dish until you get a signal, after moving to 28.2E.
Press the Menu button, then select the Hammer icon, hit OK, then OK again and scroll through the options until you are on the page with the Astra 2, 28.2E, showing, scroll down to the dish position number and use the left right buttons, on your remote control, to nudge the dish East and West, once you've peaked the signal press OK.

Sorry guys I have tried all of that. My sat goes from 40e to 30w.

Even tried finding Astra 28e by using a different satellite in the menu and then tuning Sly News and moving the dish and nothing.

Really dont want to do a factory reset as it takes ages to reprogram the whole thing. I wish I still had my old laptop with a serial port. I cried when that blowed up.

Just think there is something else wrong as a Sly Receever does not work in the place of the Echostar either. I have tried to move the dish around with the Sly plugged in and waited a few mins each time to see if a signal is found.

    Just doing my head in.

What satellites are you currently getting on the arc?
Do you get anything from 26E?

If you are getting all the other satellites then the problem is probably your receiver settings, it might be best to delete all the current channels then add just a FTA one, like Movies 4 Men, 11224 V 27500 then use the motor control options to find the satellite.

I get all others Thor Sirus Astra 19e Hotbird 30w *******.

    I will try 26e, I normally get a signal.

I have tried the FTA ones but no signal. I will try deleting all the channels and retune them.

If you can get 19E, 23.5E, and 26E, then you should have no problem getting 28E as you can see where the satellites are positioned, on the menu screen, and position 28E by using the others as a guide.

Still no joy. I played around with the virtical and horiztonal positions within the menu and I get a solid blue bar for the signal. But it is only one solid blue not both.

Think my dish must not be moving east properly.
Could not get anything after 19e last night. Tried everything.
Will get a sat meter and up on the roof over weekend and see if I can figure it out.

Anyone know any good satellite installers near Heathrow pls.

Ok guys I have worked out the problem.
The arm the lnb sits on must be out of line.
I have bent the arm down and can get 28e now.
However now the problem has reversed. I am no longer able to get anything west.

Is it a simple matter of relacing the arm?
Or do I need to change the dish too.

Anyone know of any good dealers in Heathrow pls.
