Why Should I buy an 8000HD

    Hi Guys (and girls)

I have a DB800HD which I am more than happy with.
I`m thinking of getting another 800HD for my bedroom, but would like to have views on "Why buy an 8000HD"? what are the benefits over the 800HD.

    All replies appreciated

I've gone from skyhd and a dm800 to the DM8000.

More then happy with the £1k+ i've spent, just wish i'd
done it sooner, got 3 sat tuners now.

A lot of money but for me i think it was worth it.
Had no problems at all yet, Hard drive all running well and
just playing about foir now with it.

    Thanks Jeff
When you say you`ve `got 3 sat tuners now` do you have to have 3 LNBs (or 3 feeds from a Quad) to feed the 3 tuners? or are you refering to your skyhd and dm800 aswell?

    Thanks again

No my dm8000 has replace skyhd and dm800
I have 2 feeds from sky dish and 1 from 1m motorised.

I brought my dm8000 and also ordered an extra tuner.

I did think about just getting another 800HD but I like to dabble about so thought that an 8000HD might be worth a shot, I`m just not to sure what additional features you get for the extra £700, so just wanted to get a users view of why its worth it.

The twin tuners would be good, but have you used the DVDR function much? was the DVD easy to install? was the Hard Drive as easy to install as in the 800HD?

    Thanks

Ok, I see what you mean now.

Does the 8000HD come with a twin tuner as standard?

Have you installed a DVD into it? if so - Was it straight forward? What model did you use.

Have you installed a Hard Drive?

    Thanks

Do you know if the tuners can be mixed? ie could I add a DVB-T one with the DVB-S so that I could use the 8000HD to pick up terestial tv too

    Thanks

Where did you get the extra tuner? Was it a DVB-S2, because I thought they were still not available?

    Cheers!
