Determining if motor is Diseq 1.2 or USALS

Hi guys

Slighty embarrassed to ask this question, but need to before i swap out my Topfield 5510 PVR for my brand spanking new DM 800 HD PVR.

How can I tell if my current motorised dish is Diseq 1.2 or USALS? I want to be able to select USALS after I load Channel list to scan for sats. A satellite expert installed my dish and topfield 3 years back and I can't find any information as to what motor was installed.

Is there any way (bar contacting the original installer) of finding out?

I haven't seen a diseqc1.2 only motor for years, not saying yours isn't but its highly likely it will do both. In the early days, around 2000 diseqc1.2 was the only game in town but since then motors do both.
Have you looked at your motor for markings, report the make here and maybe someone can say for sure.....or just plug in your DM800 select USALS and see if it works.

Why not check the sat settings on the Topfield?
