    Technomate 6800 super +

I've just splashed out and ordered a Technomate 6800 super + so I'm busy at the moment looking at all the threads relating to this receiver. There is a lot of good information on here for me to try and take in, but I'm sure that when I receive it I will no doubt be seeking help or pointing in the right direction. So thanks in advance.
    Regards Satcat.

only difference would by the terrestrial receiver. If using channel list from a TM 6900 HD super you would have to delete the terrestrial group frequencies. (Clarke Tech Studio) <= click here.
guess that 8 2 8 1 would be the same as the ethernet use?

If you putting an network cable in place, put in a good rs232 cable to, good shielded.
If you make the cable yourself: nullmodem cable

always great for downloading the channellist from the Technomate (Clarke Tech Studio) to the computer and for a quick softcam update from the computer to the Technomate using one of the patched loaders.
Be very cautious while uploading firmware using a patched loader (1.8.7) make sure you don't upload the wrong patch for the wrong model. Myself I would upload only firmware by USB stick (safety, not bricking the receiver)

I'm looking forward to your report if the 6800 HD super has the same feature as the 6900 HD super, while viewing with the 688p pressing the green button on the remote.

    grtz

Thanks Giga for your information and all the other relevant threads you have posted that I have been reading.
I haven't got my receiver yet but when I do am I right in what to do.

1st Save channels on memory stick.
    2nd Do factory reset
3rd Load official firmware 688 with memory sick
    4th Factory reset again
5th Load patched firmware 688 with memory stick
6th load latest tmsoftcam with memory stick

Have I got it right? If not can you put me right please.
    Regards Satcat
    (I don't have a RS232 port on my laptop)

should be ok. Meanwhile you could already have a go with Clarke Tech Studio. What is your dish setup? multi feed, motorised?
do***ent your setup on paper. Before you change an existing channellist upload it to usb stick, make backup on your computer. Keep a system in this names or whatever, when you accidental overwrite an actual channellist or erase it, you can fallback on the latest copy.

Watchout: Technomate download is writing to the Technomate!
saving a channellist to (fat32 formatted) USB stick: press in the data transfer menu in USB submenu.
when writting, don't do anything else with it! like switching off
Patch to Technomate is +- 5 writes (eachtime getting at 100%)

Excellent Giga. I had loaded 679 which worked ok, but now I will load 688.
I will report back later how things are doing, but seems ok up to now.
    Thanks again/

Well, it's taken me all day, receiver arrived at 9.30 this morning and it's taken me nearly all day, but I think I'm sorted.
    Giga, I've got a motorized system 45E -58W.
I did have a play with channel editor yesterday, but what I did in the end was transfer my own channels list from my Mvision into it and loaded that into the Technomate.
Two problems I have with the Technomate so far are:
In the A/V outlet settings, although I have a wide screen TV, I tried to change it to 4:3 format and Pan & scan, but it doesn't seem to respond, any ideas? It's connected to TV via HDMI (worked OK that way on Mvision)
The other thing is I can't clear MCM Belgique Atlantic Bird 3 (5*W) the right keys are entered but not clearing.
Other than that I'm quite impressed with it so far, but no doubt I'll have more questions as I get more into it.
Any help on those two queries would be appreciated.
    Thanks

on the button on remote bottom right Wide press until you get Pilar-box, it will show 4:3

Atlantic Bird 3 (5.0°W) MCM Belgique Belgium Music GlobeCast Viaccess 2.3/Viaccess 2.5, don't know don't have that location in my setup. Think Viaccess is not open on Technomate

    Or are you using 8 2 8 0 (b i s s menu) <= click here

    @Giga
What I'm trying to do is Pan-Scan the picture to fill the screen, but it won't do that for some reason, any ideas?
Does anyone with a TM manage to open MCM Belgique Atlantic Bird 3 (5*W)? I can with my Mvision.

    MCM BELGIQUE
It doesn't work for me either mate
    but it use to
it could very well be the patch,as there is also some others that it doesn't open on 13 east example RAI
I'm using the the TM 6900 super. with 688p patch
But i can confirm It should work with an older patch,as I just test my TM 6800 super.
the problem is that the 688p i use for CS and work for me,but you loose some channels that old patch use to open

you want to stretch the 4:3 to 16:9?
    select menu on the remote
    Main Menu
    System Settings (on the left)
A/V Output Setting (on the right)
    Screen Format: 16 : 9
    Display Format: Full Screen (16:9)/ Pillar-Box (4:3)
    exit
    confirm save for changed settings

you can always change from Full Screen (16:9)/ Pillar-Box (4:3) with [WIDE] button on the remote.

Further adjustments on picture display (black borders) could be achieved on the flat screen settings or with the zoom function of the flatscreen. This could differ from brand to brand.

Yes it does work, thanks again.

Thanks Giga. I understand what you are saying, but what I want to do is zoom the 4;3 picture to fit my wide screen TV without making it look stretched. Like I can on my Mvision.
I know I can achieve this by TV settings, but that also enlarges menu boxes and hides part of them.
The fact that there is a setting on TM for doing this, that doesn't work, makes me wonder it it's a software glitch. Does it work on either on your boxes Giga? or anyone else with a TM.

this works only like I described:
    Screen Format: 16 : 9
    Display Format: Full Screen
this will display 4:3 on the 16:9. works on 6900 HD Super and 6800 HD non Super these are the only settings. hitting the WIDE button toggles between 16:9 and 4:3 on a 16:9 screen. 4:3 on a 16:9 will always show fat people.

    output to 16:9 Screen
    Pillar-Box (4:3)

    Full Screen (16:9)

when pressing the WIDE button on the remote it should display on screen either Pillar-Box or Full Screen, if it is the case and the picture is not changing, perhaps your Flatscreen is on auto display and doing the full screen thing

Thanks again for you reply Giga, but I don't think you fully grasp what I am trying to do.
Yes, in 16:9 format the wide button toggles between Full-Screen and Pillar -Box.
In 4:3 format it should toggle between Pan-Scan and Letter-Box, but it dosen't. Why?
