OK, here's the full info, as it were, for all to distinguish it properly... Just in case, if one is a newbie and it's a bit difficult to make all those distincions...
You have [soon available for AZbox HD]:
1) [Digital] High Definition Satellite TV tuner [one needs a satellite dish to receive those services and one of those comes with the box - we expect FW to be ablke to handle 2 of these soon, including recording from one, while watching another]
2) [Digital] High Definition Cable TV tuner [a cable company would send a cable, strangely enough, to your house to provide you with those services - already supported by the FW, apparently - haven't tested, have no need for it, where I am]
3) [Digital] High Definition Terrestrial TV tuner [the one you mentioned, for "Freeview", received via terrestrial masts, like Crystal Palace or Ally Pally, for instance, supported already by the FW, not tested by me, not in the UK any more... Besides, I want 2 Sat TV ones, hehe...]

1. UK DTT is mpeg 2, Other European countries DTT is mpeg4. In Europe, you have to get a NP4 CAM to use in most TV's with integrated DTT tuner as its mpeg2. I assume the AZbox DTT tuner will do both?
2. Some cable tv providers dont use cable, but MMDS, so that would need a DTT tuner. Never used that myself, so dont know much about it

The DTT tuners are going to be of no use if they only support DVB-T and not the upcoming DVB-T2...
There are some DVB-T2 tests underway from the Crystal Palace transmitter
The tuner has nothing to do with the codec used.
The tuner only demodulates the signal to digital information.
What needs to support MPEG2/4 is the box itself.

I'm assuming the DTT card will have a decoder chip on it that it feeds into the main box.
Not everyone is from the UK.
No plans for T2 in Ireland and many other places.
Decoder is inside the Sigma chipset... no need to add to tuner. And I read there will be a DVB-T/T2 version too.
Not quite true, as existing DVB-T receivers will still work alongside DVB-T2 broadcasts,
but of course you won't be able to receive any HD channels.
Here in Portugal we will have just MPEG4 in SD and HD and for now we will just use DVB-T.
DVB-T or DVB-T2 have nothing to do with MPEG4 or HD.
DVB-T2 will use better the bandwith than DVB-T and the operator can have more channel (or more quality) in the same TP while paying the same fees.
We could also have HD and MPEG4 in DVB-S. But since MPEG4 and HD came in almost the same time as DVB-S2 there was no point on mixing old with new technology.
