    Question X-Can Orion Bootloader Repair

    Hello,

Have a curios problem in regards to repairing the X-cam Orion bootloader, which have been damaged due to un-proper programming.

Have installed (soldering) all the (5) cables properly to both the CAS 3 dummy-card as well as to the cam, and have measured all said connections and everything looks fine. Then installed the cam into the CAS3, and connected the dummy-card to the programmer, and started the CAS-studio 8.6 and went into the repair section (x-cam), when pressing ”repair” I get the message ”trying to repair", and then ”cam not found”
Have done this before and never had any problems, but this time it is no go.

Can not figure out what is wrong, can it be that some files is missing in the cas-studio, what I have is 2 files in the x-cam section, but none of them works, if I try to install them manually in the ”advance” then I get an error message, and the program shuts down.

    Have never experienced this before.

Any ideas, suggestions will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

A lot of lurkers, but no constructive replies.

Does that mean that nobody around here have any kind of knowledge in the area of repairing Cams ?

Still looking forward to connect with somebody which have some skills in said area.

Hi m8, not a guru here but I can only confirm the repair function in cas studio doesn't work for xcam orion, as you have noticed, despite the mentioning of the orion in the manual.

I managed to revive a dead orion once (new bootloader loaded with cas studio, no more connection afterwards) in the pcmcia card I have in my pc, using the pcmcia loader. So you might give that a try in a laptop ? If the bootloader has been overwritten by firmware or an angel bootloader this won't work either and I'm afraid there's nothing more you can do to program it.

Sorry for not responding earlier, going to back to lurk now

Here's the loader and driver files for use with windows xp. I installed this driver in vista to work with my pcmcia pci card.

    Good luck..
