    V870 UK & RoI Maps, May 2011

Here's the latest map releases from Tomtom :-
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ir eland v870.3406 Map - for PNA ONLY - Tomtom Go units with Navcoe v8.204 or higher.
Me ta info for this map included in download. This map will need activating - see guide posted on forum.

    Code:
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UNU0YY9S

Don't know why it's done this again. but when you download the file the is no file extension & it is now named UK &amp - so rename file to

    UK & RoI v870.3406 map.zip

Mmm - I couldn't get it to work with Albert's activation tool - but worked ok with BBSTools - I used this me ta file :-
    Code:

If you still have problems - PM me your DeviceID & I'll try it for you.

    cock up

Ok tried the map again don't know what I'm doing wrong but no joy, so I reinstalled the 865 map again now I can't get beyond the splash screen and have to press rest on the device to connect to pc TT home & BBs see the device ok but every time I remove from cradle just freezes on splash screen (should've left well alone) but now do I start all over again or what.
Funny thing is it boots ok from an SD card with western Europe map instaled and gives me the choice of maps and I can use either.

This map is working fine on my Go730 - make sure you delete the old map folder & not try to overwrite any existing map files. If you want to keep your Favourites & POI settings - copy the file named 'mapsettings.cfg' from old map folder to new map folder.

Yes I did, but don't know exactly how you added the new map, so posted the above to make sure you got it right.
If still having problems - remove memory card - the connect to Tomtom Home & use Home to delete everything on your Tomtom. Then update the navcore until no more updates are available - add any voices & postcode files. Disconnect from Home & start device - this will create a new ttgo file for you. Then use activation tool to patch the Navcore - add new map & again use tool to activate new map.

Following the thread between painter & Russell1.

Thought I should report that the map activated fine with Alberts activation tool on my GO700 with a v.8.2 navcore.

Pointed to the ME TA code supplied with the map.

    mapshare corrections UK

After installing an old backup and getting this latest map installed on my 530,
when I start TT home (patched ver) along with mapshare & GPS updates I get an updated TT version for my unit with the tick greyed out so cannot remove it & will have to install it with the other updates but am wondering if this will be safe as I remember doing a similar thing on a ver I was using on an SD card and afterwards the card would not boot, funny thing is though TT home says my mapshare updates are 20 weeks old

If you update the Navcore on your Tomtom you'll have to patch it again. Does it say what version it will update it to ?

I'd let it update to that version & then use one of the activation tools to patch the ttsystem file on your Tomtom.
