JSC seems to be working but keeps locking up. Haven't changed my baud rate. You should see a line saying by compass jsc or nordic etc every 10 secs in between another line.

As Giga says the next lines should have a provider id and something like 4digits followed by c01 tuner , lots of hex digits followed by open then a time in msecs. This is for JSC. Have a look at TV4 1W 11216V 24500 as that has a different screen. Does sound like the com port is fine but not talking to the box.

I have all the JSC channels working fine. Running a tm 5400 super with sssp.
But when it comes to nordic channels W1. Its a different story!!!
I clear picture... Then the program flashes up "filtered" and then "timeout".
    Then i lose picture...
    What am i doing wrong?

Just had a look on 11283H 27500 (is that the only channel?) and it seems not to be clearing the video. Timeout.... It was working earlier. JSC is fine as of today 2/6/10

if you have a USB dongle with HSDPA (7.2Mbps) and your provider (Vodafone Mobile Broadband) supports it? You would hardly notice you're not on a wired connection (ADSL ± 3 Mbps)

My adapter arrived today and I tried it after loading the disk that came with it. I am getting 'Portcom error /dev/ttyS0'. I have read that this is something to do with changing Com ports via the Device Manager. Can someone help a computer thicko and tell me how to change ports? I have a laptop running XP. Thanks. :(

The other side of the coin is that I'm using a dongle but I'm in a 2G area and getting 30kbps/20kbps so worse than when I had dialup years ago.

right mouse click on this computer: window opens System Properties select Hardware: Device Management
there you would either find it back under Com & LPT or USB. If you find the device, normally you would find it possible to change the port number in its properties.
