It starts to be boring, since the begining of this topic to see that every time we start to step forward "one step" with some ineteresting post even if it represents nothing but "effort" for developing this stb....... just because some "end users" & I mean it only end users not dev's or even real hobyists are again & again wasting time by posting negatively & getting off-topic just by insulting others or talking about "promissed" dates ...... all that because they are not enough patient, or they don't believe on reality that any progress must be paid for it's value.
So I guess that Opensat must be happy for what's going on in this forum since we don't ask them anything anymore & instead some of us are blaming or accusing those who gave dates & others are rushing dev's who are working to implement e2 & others from time to time are informing us & repeting that they are fade up and will sell their box and go to to buy ... while few others are helping dev's with do***entations or whatever.
The result: Opensat is watching & don't rush for any progress to avoid bugs in their fw.... meanwhile, NO ONE asked them to pay & help dev's working on e2.
So STOP acting that way, imagine you are one of these people who are giving all their time to give more sense & value for what you bought from Opensat... then you face flaming or rushing while you don't help in any way..
What do you expect: having e2 like this, did you ever know how long it takes to compile a stable fw (me personaly i have no enough knowledge to answer this question, but i guess it is not few weeks and not even months).
At last, i am asking all of you to be more objective & to stop flaming people because they just shared infos with fixed dates or whatever ... & instead of rushing them, go rush Opensat to pay dev's or to at least to give them more support with do***entations.

I have been checking up on this thread since it's inception. Yes it got me excited and yes I too feel a tad disappointed, but then again I don't believe it's fair to take our frustrations out one another.
How about we take a more organized and structured approach? I suggest three threads:
1) First thread for a petition/vote by members who 'feel' they have constructive critici*** to contribute towards opensat's firmware releases. Ask them for a modular approach towards firmware updates and fixes. At least that way members can vote on what fixes take priority and then we merely wait for the weekly/fortnightly updates... We then have a roadmap for the fixes and their release dates.
(Yes i know i will be slandered over my naivety but hey who cares :) )
2) A thread where people can see in a graphical form of what needs to be done for the E2 port to azbox. e.g. dvbapi compilation progress and other modules which need to be present. A progress bar per module so to speak so everyone can see what has and needs to be done without repeatedly asking. WHEN WILL IT BE READY!
Also perhaps people who want to contribute do***entation and source code would be the only ones able to write in the thread. Rest of us should have a read-only right. Maybe the developers could be kind enough to leave a sort of blog every know and again to appraise the slightly more technically minded amongst us.
3) A thread locked and hidden for the use of developers only to collaborate on development of the E2 port.
Just my two cents worth...
Failing all the above we hire a developer and donate to get the E2 :P (FAT CHANCE!)
Before all that is need to do a SDK, and put it on GIT for example.
Without that is impossible to start realy DEV on this box.
I can suggest to use buildroot for it, and add files (tar balls) on a uploader, and just link download to it.
