Humax 2000HD Channel List

Hi Pajao,

1) Could it be that there was something wrong whit the downloading of the original channel list file from here to your PC? It might be worth trying and downloading it to your PC again, and start all over again.

If you open the channel list in formula, can you see all the channels in there? Save it with a different name, maybe to the desktop (as suggested by maud, though I never had to do that)

By the way,

2) Could you explain in detail how you are doing it?

What computer/OS?
What program? (Formula)
What cable? RS-232C serial cable? Null modem? Are you using a Serial-USB adaptor?
What steps are you following and what do you see on the computer and on the HDCI200 LED display?
...?

Hopefully, maud, magwitch, mysel or someone else might be able to spot something unusual and give you hand...

Hello again, Pajao,

Here are some old instructions (from somewhere else, from somebody else)I finall y managed to find:

1.Ok first of all reset your receiver to factory setting.
2.Download the Humax channel list.
3.Connect your receiver via null cable to the pc.
4.Turn off your receiver from the back switch.
5.start the formula and upload the file that you just downloaded.
6.Wait till all the channels are uploaded into the formula window on your pc screen.
7.select download to stb
8.Go to your receiver and switch on the power from the back.
9.Channel list begins downloading to your receiver the minute you turn on the power switch from the back of the receiver.

Make sure you have version 16 firmware in before installing list also I will update it for new ITV HD channels on 10832H

If using FW 16, are there any issues with (HD) channels using SR 30000?

I did downgrade to FW 11 lomg time ago to get those High Frequency Channesl on Thor (not currently available anymore)... and I am still using a FW 15 (not 11, sorry) Laurals (modified by me now and then) list...

No issues with the recently available HD CSat channels?

Oh, what new ITV HD channels? I need to investigate.

Yes, FW16 picks up SR 30000s OK (well it does on mine).

Can't clear those HD channels. No problem with other receivers I have. As mentioned, it's probably the high bit-rate that the Humax can't process.

Sorry, I was thinking of the Bulsat HD channels on 39E. CSat 19E channels OK.

So, you are saying you CANNOT pick up the Bulsat HD channels on 39E?

And that is because you are using FW 16?

I can pick those using FW 11.

In could be the same issue then as with the Thor HD channels, SR 30000 that I could not get (when Diablo cleared them) with FW 16, but managed to see them when I downgraded to FW 11.

No, I can scan in the Bulsat HD channels with FW 16, but there's no video (I'm using a Diablo 2 CAM and ipnosys 12).

I am also using, Diablo 2, Ipnosys 12, Humax HDCI2000 but FW 11:

I can scan, listen to and watch the the Bulsat HD channels. They clear perfectly OK.

Going back to those Thor HD channels, when I had FW 16, I could scan them but I would get a black screen they would not clear. I do not remember if there was sound or not, probably not. Sorry. But when I downgraded to FW 11, they cleared. Shame Diablo does not clear them anymore.

Yes, we lost some good stuff on Thor. However, I'm happy enough to have the CSAT channels now, so I'll stay with FW 16. Not too bothered with the Bulsats as I can watch them on my DM8000.

So, it looks to me as if, for people who do not have varius recievers but only an old HDCI2000... it would still make sense to downgrade from FW 16 to FW 11 to make sure they can get all (HD) SR 30000 channels now and/or in the future.

Bear ni mind though, that there might be some incompatibilities between FW 11 and channel lists based on other FW.

But maybe that only happened with FW 7 and/or 8. It might not be an issue now.

In fact, I have FW 11 on my HDC2000 and I am using an old channel list based on FW 15.

That channel list was OK when I upgraded to FW 16, and it did not have any issues when I downgraded to FW 11.

Or something along those lines.

I've upgraded to FW16 once I received the box back from Humax. I then used Formula to upload the settings but with no luck.

I've removed and reloaded a new formula also with no luck. I've followed all the instrauctions to load. It shows the settings has been loaded but still no channels on the box. Only the language menu is shown.

I'll try using your instaructions again tonight when I get home and see what happens.
Another words, I'll reset to factory settings and reload the settings by Satpaul.

I'm so baffled by this because It was working O.K before I sent the box to Humax to be repaired.

I use the Null Cable to do the uploads and downloads required. You've all been really helpful here. I'll certainly try again. Will I need to reload the FW16 again after factory reset?

Humax are looking at the issue for me as i belive its a receiver problems anayway.

I'm now going to try one more time. I've just reset the reciever and re downloaded the setting, called it a new name while in the formula system. I'll now follow your instructions above and see what happens.

Or shall I change my FW to 11 instead of the 16 thats currently on the box?

Sorry it is still not working...

Well, it lookas asi if you want to see the Bullsat HD SR 30000 channels (and maybe other) you will not be able to with FW 16, but you will with FW 11.

It might also be worth trying to downgrade to FW 11 in case something did not go as it should when upgrading to FW 16.

It is worth a try.

Here we are, trying to help, in the same way we received hel in the past.
