Coonect my TM6900 to my laptoop through a null modem and USB-RS232 adapter and I am getting error when starts the 'click ici' on Compass utility. Any way to test this may eb to see first the connectivity from laptop to the receiver. Thanks
I have a 6900 hd combo not super and had the same problem loaded it keep saying error tried everything so turn of laptop and tm re started them and all ok just make sure file is up to date as compass is away on holidays he is doing a great job for us hope this helps
Have you looked at the posts regarding changing com port on USB adapter to com 1? It gives unable to open com port (or something similar) if not . Just put Jaz +3 on for the play off final and it's working fine. You should use the latest file also. Is it the same as my 6800HD where you have to enable SSSP mode?Quote:

The latest one says ...2nd... in the filename. Try the bulsat file on the technomate section. This doesn't need the com port changing when I tried it but it's not quite as user friendly. What is the full error message?

Changed to COM1 and baud rate as 115200 as sssp on TM6900 not getting an error but just stopped at the last line below.

JSC seems to be working but keeps locking up. Haven't changed my baud rate. You should see a line saying by compass jsc or nordic etc every 10 secs in between another line.
is not finding the TM6900 should find a tuner, have you connected with a working null modem cable?

As Giga says the next lines should have a provider id and something like 4digits followed by c01 tuner , lots of hex digits followed by open then a time in msecs. This is for JSC. Have a look at TV4 1W 11216V 24500 as that has a different screen. Does sound like the com port is fine but not talking to the box.

I have all the JSC channels working fine. Running a tm 5400 super with sssp.
But when it comes to nordic channels W1. Its a different story!!!
I clear picture... Then the program flashes up "filtered" and then "timeout".
Then i lose picture...
What am i doing wrong?

My adapter arrived today and I tried it after loading the disk that came with it. I am getting 'Portcom error /dev/ttyS0'. I have read that this is something to do with changing Com ports via the Device Manager. Can someone help a computer thicko and tell me how to change ports? I have a laptop running XP. Thanks. :(
