I was responding to a user that first stated he could by a receiver that does everything an azbox does by half its price, and then said that a skystar hd2 does it all for 70eur... I just stated that you had include the complete htpc price, and gave an example.
I have a azbox elite, the price was 240. So, even assuming your MB had a PCI slot instead of PCI-Express and you used a Skystar HD2, it would still cost 275 EUR. Would it be better? Probably, but more expensive.
I hope you all are in the same workgroup

Code:e2 for azbox
Enigma2 on azbox
I state that I take responsibility for what I say now and I am also prepared to insults.
After a dialogue with authoritative sources, we can officially say that there is a cvs-based Enigma2 for azbox hd.
The firmware is the final details and will soon light publicly.
On the authorship of the compilation did not want and we can not say much for reasons that many of you know well.

RASKINO
Where did you find it?Another forum?
fundidun you are faast! ;) :)
Can somebody explain what is "cvs-based Enigma2" to a noob? Thanks!
means that if its finally compiles we'll face e2 bugs :D
oh good news then, and we all can be their beta testers :hurray:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concurrent_Versions_System
...hopefully explain it to you
greetz
ps if there is another explanation pls tell it, because i've lost the road :)
Okay , and now for the people who's glass is half full...
Please look around the web, and see there is now a lot of development with the azbox.
Some try to get the epg work with the tv api
others modify the original firmware
and some try to implant E2 on the box
So stop crying about the box is nothing worth, and put your effords to Opensat to make everything open source...
BUT be patient.....I knew when i bought the box, it was for the real sat hobbyist, and yes with that you know you buy a box which still needs improvement...
Even no linux boxes, made by an A brand manufacturer still needs upgrading the firm...
As example...
Ask in Holland to people who bought a certified receiver for their provider with HD subscription, how long they had to wait when the box was capable to handle full HD (i)
Remember...
DM did get big, because the users believe in it, keeps supporting it.
So support the box, or sell it, and don't even bother it.
For me the box does what i bought it for....2 full hd receiver, and the other specs are extra, and if i look back, still a good price they sell it for.
Greetz..
PS I know we in holland are lucky with our distributor, and his exchange action...
what about this

E2 is an alternative!
E2 is not attributable to opensat so official!
The release will be out very soon and will develop "open" by the many teams have on this receiver settings, plugins and above EPG (sky ita uses a proprietary standard "OpenTV" which can not be integrated for licensing reasons).
Criticism and praise excessively are only intellectual speculations!
I repeat that opensat continue the development of the official firmware and E2 has nothing to do with Opensat.

oh well ........ so enigma 2 is true? ...i thought i was lying all the time.
*grin*
Between you and me, I told you before that it might be diplomatically preferable to keep information to yourself a bit longer, until there's more information to cover your *ss ;)
Anyway, I know you're man enough to handle the flaming, name-calling and critisism.
The Ripper, now that everyone down what Enigma, I know you bring a lot of work alone, and continues to encourage you strongly, that really does a great job.
and raskino says...
"I try to be more precise:
May have light within the last week of March.
Unfortunately, I think mid April 2010."
My opinion is... Opensat continue your job with your firmware. Let others do "alternatives" :)

I really hope that this is released very soon, you may want to clear out your inbox as you should be inundated with people saying sorry for flaming and trying to make you out to be a liar.
As I said about 1000000000000000000 posts back thanks for the information.
