@Tarzan Azbox has by far better hardware that any other STB in market. Only exception might be Qbox. That is with pure technical terms. All other u mention are most probably firmware limitation.

I'm very happy that you port E2 to Azbox. Hoping that you will do it similar to the sh4 duckbox project. In this case it will maybe also be possible to get Neutrino,VDR and Enigma1-HD running. That would be great.
I own two AZboxes and are waiting a longer time to get a better gui on this great piece of hardware.

I couldn't agree more... Why people try to h i j a c k all threads for Azbox ? I have never seen this happening in other sections... I assume most people bought Azbox as a DM killer. Well it is not!!! It is different. I bought coz i wanted a very good mediaplayer and a decent HD STB. And i am happy... I think this is for real! I have also been reading the nabilosat forum and today a few more nabilosat members confirm that i'ts coming :D
Azbox only advantage is multimedia part of the sigma chip, otherwise this sigma chip has only 300Mhz MIPS CPU (same as DM800) so you cant say it has the best hardware. In SAT world CPU speed is important and not multimedia part of the chip. CPU operates with cams, zapping, menus etc.Quote:

I can say from experience with Kathrein receivers (ufs910) that the picture quality with E2 images is inferior to the official image.
This is because (as I understand it) that the video drivers have been modified for the Kathrein processor to work with E2, where as the official image drivers were designed originally with the box.
I think I posted this before but this thread is soooo long now.
Despite the fact that I own three dreamboxes including an 8000 I really do hope that the Azbox can be made usable with E2, however if other receivers that E2 has been adapted to run on are anything to go by, it may be a very long time before all the problems are overcome.
whether there really is E2, anger, bad, very bad, very slow and heavy, only need to see a 800HD to verify that an emulation will always be worse.
to hell with the azbox with OPENSAT and sigma, junk
