it does have to be female, but i use a 9 pin male to female pin cable as well so a usb to male is ok with me.

good news i work out the problem for com port error, my cable was to long it seems, bad news is i don't have a decent download speed for this program as i use the internet via a dongle, but i think i get a better broadband supplier when my contract runs out so i'll be ok then.
not exactly: comport on computer is always D9 male pin
USB to serial converter:
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1277360069
comport on receiver is always D9 male pin
null modem cables are normally always D9 female crossed wired D9 female
Null Modem cable:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...em_cable_1.jpg
so you would need:
- USB to serial converter
- null modem cable
maximum distance 5 meter/ 16.4 feet together, null modem wire diagram in attached thumbnails
Eddie, I dont think you've said WHICH channels/package you are trying to open mate?:respect-055:
how can you get this to work with a tm5200 usb super anybody know
check in menu for option and serial mode if you have a patched firmware on it? if this possibility is there? set Serial Mode: sssp, baudrate: 115200

I'm following these instructions by Compass and Canal Sat is working fine on my TM1000ci.
using SSSP & Null Modem cable connected to receiver
Save & unpack the attachment
1. run CILQUER ICI
2. open folder SBCL_ vpulg
3. run SBCL v1.0i
4. check to see if vplug is active (ticked)
Weston Calling
Many Thanks I didn't go to SBCL v1.1b folder and then click and open SBCL v1.b1.
Someone smack my botty. :beatdeadhorse5:
Well I think we dont get ALL of C+ Nordic on 1W mate, just a few, e.g. 'Series', Sports ( SD & HD) Eurosport HD, BBC HD, - its more a trial of error to be honest - and the HD channels once opened usually only last a few minutes before freezing! I also usually make sure any cam is not inserted whilst watching too, as this can cause compatibilty probs with HD channels!
I find the JSC Sports 1-10 (13E) tend to open best mate!
Many C+ France channels open on 19E though too!:bravo-009:
Hello,
I've finally had a serious go at getting this to work, but as before with no success. I've read the brief instructions and various forum posts/threads but I have little idea of what I'm doing.
I am on Vista Home Premium and using:
ThemeX,JSC,13°E,C+france19E,Canal-Digital0.8°W,24-06-2010-_by_Compass.zip
and testing with JSC Sports 1 and 2.
Running CILQUER ICI.exe opens a DOS window which runs as far as:
4468 s serial: initialized (pid=4256, auto@/dev/ttyS0)
4556 p08 proxy 127.0.0.1:6001 newcamd525 (fd=4)
I've tried running SBCL v1.1b both before and after running CILQUER ICI.exe and selecting 'Active' in SBCL v1.1b's 'vPlug' dropdown selector.
This is CS requiring an internet connection isn't it? If so, my computer makes no attempt to connect through my firewall. I would get notified if it did.
Do we have to forward a port in the internet modem/router?
I have my TM set to SSSP and my pc COM port is COM2 which works fine with the Darkman Loader for uploading and downloading channel lists and softcams.
The cable however is quite long; is it possible that even though it works fine for softcams/channel lists, the length might not be suitable for this?
If so, would that mean that the TM would not 'request' an internet connection so the process just stops?
I cannot move my TM and pc closer and use a shorter cable.
Thanks for any informed help.
Is this a daft question - What is the advantage of this setup over say a straight forward ethernet connection to stb.
Is anybody using a straight forward cs setup using 8281 and an internet connection to the stb?
Guessing: its more an addition for emu's not handled by TM-6900 like Viaccess above 2.5.
Mainly usage for C S in my case:
- local distribution of official card(s) to 2 TM-6900HD Super (can watch 2 programs on same card)
- not having to use official CI module (slow zapping)
It appears I have it working, after looking elsewhere on the internet for inspiration.
I had to go into mpcs.conf and change the following line:
Device=au://tuner@/dev/ttyS0
to
Device=au://tuner@/dev/ttyS1
I have no idea why 'ttyS1' means COM2 but it appears to.
I'm guessing the download package assumes we are all using COM1, which is already in use on my pc. I am using COM2 for the serial connection.
Can I suggest the instructions are improved to explain the use of this setting.
Also, can it please be clarified if what we are doing here is CS and therefore we are open to being tracked by our IP addresses.
ttyS0 = COM1
ttyS1 = COM2
ttyS2 = COM3
ttyS4 = COM4
tty: A generic term for any computer data terminal or associated serial interface
Yes is C SQuote:

if you have the rs232 on the laptop, that would do.
