External HDD on DM8000

Does anybody know how to activate an external HDD (from the enclosure) in DM8000 in Nemesis 2.4 SVN image, either via e-SATA or USB connection? Once I managed to do it via USB connection in Gemini image, but now no luck in Nemesis. Connecting e-SATA from the free connector on the motherboard didn´t work on either of them (Dreambox didn´t detect the HDD). What exactly should I do? The image must be OE1.6 since I can´t install the neccessary titler plugin in images OE2.0 or higher.
